I get it, she's looking for the original leaker, not the cleanup crew. On scandal stories like this the sourcing would be everything (presumably why no journalist touched it before - not knowing for 100% certain that our grainy clip didn't come from some music video, project Veritas, or something equally embarrassing). So the only important thing is to find out who the clip came from, if they're still out there obsessively watching it spread. If she can contact them, good, if she can find the original full-length recording hosted somewhere by them using the same IP, all the better. Hopefully the original leaker never found this thread and they probably don't know about the removal link.

I always liked the theory that it was some unhappy intelligence grunt missing their paycheck during the shutdown. Either one fits well, because it seems to definitely be a low-level leak by someone who wasn't supposed to leak it. I say that because it seems to have been done without any purpose except spite. Whoever did it was content for it to be quietly forgotten and did not try to draw the media to it at all. Because of that it'd be really surprising if the tape dropping was done on orders from the top of any major group, or part of some international power play.
