He’s like 3 weeks younger than me and I definitely couldn’t deal with the physical demands of a pro footballer at the moment, although age doesn’t have that much to do with it in my case.

We kinda all knew it but Marchisio is officially retiring at the age of 33. Can’t stay fit.

They’re having a thing tomorrow at Juve’s stadium for him. Can’t say it was a bad career at all, just cut short. He says he’s going to focus on some individual businesses but will remain close to Juve.

This actually kinda bums me out, I’ve always loved Claudio, seemed like a good lad who was always willing to help out and play his role. Glad he is remaining close to Juve.

This was a few days ago but Sassuolo's owner, Giorgio Squinzi, passed away. He's basically responsible for turning them from a nothing side to a Serie A mainstay in the past 10 years. I imagine there will be minutes of silence/armbands for him this weekend.

FIGC announced a new anti-racism policy, where they reward clubs for identifying and banning racist supporters. Basically if they utilize technology and a heavier security presence to stop racist chanting and ban the offenders, they won't get punished with stadium bans or fines.

Not sure what to think about it, but I suppose it's worth a try compared to the current system. Juve ultras have been basically holding the club hostage by threatening to do racist poo poo to get the club in trouble in retaliation for assisting investigations into organized crime.

I feel that way too but he won a ton of titles with Juve at least. Hardly a trophy-less career.

So good. I went down a youtube wormhole trying to remember some of my favorite Claudio goals, because he had some great ones. He made such great breaking runs in behind the defense, and had very underrated tekkers. I totally forgot about this one here, which was one of his best, such a perfect assist from Pirlo too.

quote:

Milan ultras insulting the club and team. There's a chant. It's more of a poem, really. It's not nice.

Translation incoming.

“Too many years, this team has not been worthy of its fans.

“A thousand changes on the bench, results pathetic every time.

“The directors changed, every project failed and our patience is expired.

“Milan deserve respect, we will have no more mercy for players and club.

“You’ve sucked for years, you have to earn our support.

“The seasons will pass by and so will you.

“The only ones who’ll stay to fight for the shirt are us.”

there was a big petition to remove Conte's star from Juventus Stadium and Agnelli refused, saying something like "history remains and those who made it happen should not be erased".

I agree with him for now but if Conte makes Inter champions then replace his star with a cartoon wig imho
