The only down side to the game is as mentioned the voluminous unskippable story sequences

I highly, highly recommend, if you want to level another character, to just grind circle of slaughter to 50 and then blast through the story as quick as possible. You can get through it in 8-10 hours, maybe less.

You can get to it under the social menu on either the main screen or in-game when you pause it. The 2nd tab over let's you queue up for a couple different modes. Proving grounds are also ok, but CoS just seems faster.

So uh, what's the play if I'm stuck at Agonizer (Zane, level 34) and just can't beat it? I don't really have anywhere to just go get better guns, and I don't think a few level is going to make a difference.

You can switch the difficult to "Easier" in the options. Agonizer is tough but once you figure it out is not that bad.

Why my bullets no hit?
Agonizer never felt too bad for me, I found most of the stuff was avoidable with alot of running left/right and abit of jumping.

Not sure if you have the mayham mode artifact yet, try that or the proving grounds.

i had a tough time with this fight too. i think shooting the tank on its back does more damage so aim for that with a corrosive weapon. i also had an artifact that increased my slide speed by a ton and it really helped escape some of its bullshit attacks. you can also duck/jump over the spinning blade move too. it really is a lovely fight and i had to keep throwing myself at it until i learned how to avoid stuff.

So with Fl4k I started off in the sniper tree with the spiderant but both me and my pet felt really squishy for not a huge amount of benefit. Does that tree just not shine well until way later maybe? Now I'm on the tanky tree with the Jabber and man the monkey is way the hell more sturdy and the passive regen is wonderful. Plus the my pet being able to pick me up when I'm idiot and go down. It's been way smoother sailing since.

Fl4k continues to be wonderful too, I love how deadpan they are about everything and when I had the spiderant just the incredulous "When did you eat that?" they say on occasion when it would vomit up ammo was just wonderful.

The big bot option is to combine both trees. All that critical love from the sniper tree really helps Fade Out, and all the pet love from the stealth tree really helps your spiderant (since she's the tankiest pet).

Just randomly tried some launcher flags on the epic launcher and these seem to work on blands3.

Settings->Blands3->Additional Command Line Args and then add:

-nomovies -nosplash

Keeps those loud as hell intro movies from playing and that random splash graphic from showing up.

I'm running Moze with a grenades build and I have one skill point left, should I put another in the Phalanx Doctrine skill or put one in the skill that starts shields recharging upon a crit hit (Force Feedback)?

I'd say if you have a grenade that does constant damage like a hex or storm front then go Phalanx Doctrine since your shield will always be recharging anyways.

Force Feedback requires a crit kill, not just a hit, and as far as I know gets completely replaced by the post-game Guardian tree version?

How well is Cryo understood now? All I have is that with efficiency 100% the target freezes as 20% health, or maybe after losing the equivalent of 80% of their core HP but from any pool (Inc armour and shields)

And if I get a non-cryo anointed gun for Zane that grants +50% Cryo damage, can that freeze? It doesn't give an efficiency.

Honestly I went from 5 to like 30 so fast this last time I couldn't really say I did anything special. Just tried to stay alive as best I could. Getting constant appropriate level gear probably helped a lot too.

Do you need to finish the round successfully or is the xp just that good in the activity?

Nah. Xp is just really good. It was pretty rare that we'd go more than 3 rounds generally. If you can get someone to carry you they can start in offline mode to get the crazy xp boost and then reconnect after they load into the zone to invite someone and they'll get the boosted xp too. Haven't tried it myself yet so ymmv.

Very Important Discoveries: Fade Out with the infinite shots mod and a Torgue shotgun on sticky mode does disgusting things to basically any enemy you decide to blanket in explosives. It's hilariously effective. I still haven't even touched the other action skills yet because Fade Out is just too goddamn satisfying.

Phalanx Doctrine is way better once you get Bloodletter, I think grenade + shield Moze is one of the strongest builds right now

Lilith has always been terrible at decision making. It started with her shoving an alien artifact into Jack's face instead of just killing him then and there and culminates in BL2 when she explicitly ignores Angel's order to not show up to the Bunker.

Honestly it's a miracle she can even get her pants on correctly.

Noted trustworthy and dependable Crimson Raider order-giver Angel, who definitely did not just open Sanctuary up for orbital bombardment by Hyperion earlier that day.

You know what, fair point.

Although Angel had gone well out of her way to help them gear up to take out Jack after the Sanctuary bombing.

Lilith just walking away from Jack instead of killing him when she had the perfect opportunity still stands as a pretty piss poor decision though.

Yeah this is fundamentally a shoot man game so you're never gonna get a build that uses no guns, Burrito.

You can make a build that basically goes deep in Brawl for lots of health and bonus melee damage and combine it with a few items that beef your melee damage up and transfer all those effects to the Facepuncher shotgun. It's a lot of fuckin fun, but without some drat good rolls and especially a perfect artifact, it lacks self-sustain. You just wind up shooting everything with Facepuncher then using the Brawl capstone to dash around and gib low health targets.

Blocking a bunch of poo poo just to pump the damage up on the shield that you Captain-America-throw back at them was tons of fun.

my favorite borderlands character. wish amara's blitz worked more like athena's blood rush, i.e., that there was another way to get a free dash than having to kill the enemy with the dash.

but i haven't played around with blitz enough to fairly compare the two.
