Great thread OP, glad you are able to help out your brother and that adjustment is going ok. That is awesome he liked phad thai, is he a fan of sushi or poke? Regarding taking him to Costco, having a record isn't disqualifying for working there, but they definitely drug test during initial hiring. Not sure if working in a crowded retail store would be a good idea at this point, but maybe in the future. Especially if he can drive a forklift. The rules are he can get the dog when he can afford food, shots, regular check-ups etc. He’s 46 and his son is grown, so his only other people to spend money on besides his kid is his nieces and nephews. He put in some applications at some temp and landscaping and construction agencies and got a few bites. We’ve had two people reach back, giving us some more hopeful prospects. I promise we’ll post hella pics. We don’t know what kind of dog the first one will be, he decided he wants to rescue a dog from “lock up” first so after we get and train a rescue he’s gonna go for a terrier, Boston.

So another big thing is this story: I guess one of my brother’s biggest projects inside was this dude named “Wood”. He was a gangland kid from North Carolina who moved to Hollywood and made it very big on the West Coast, but got popped on the Beast Coast and did like 10 years. My brother thought he was smart and talented (they won the inter-prison basketball league, Wood is apparently a next-level ball player) and quickly became targeted by rival gangs, so my brother basically issued sweeping protections for him. Wood did his entire bid basically being my brother’s right hand man and got out safe and sound. Well apparently Wood has sincerely not forgotten because he is coming to visit and his entire timeline is just Ferraris, swimsuit models, champagne, hanging out with Lakers and NY Knicks, this kid is extremely connected, super rich, and loves my brother to death. He’s coming to visit, and my brother seems extremely confident that Wood is gonna help my brother out. Wood would be long dead or someone’s boyfriend many times over if my brother hadn’t been there for him, and I’m surprised by how long these men’s memories are. Guys that my bro did time with 15 years ago are hitting him up on Facebook like “I just sent you $50 for the tobacco you gave me in 2009” it’s wild. Also my mom walked in on him right as he was getting bombarded with titty videos in his Facebook messenger. He wasn’t doing anything embarrassing, just one of his “fans” trying to impress him, so now I need to have a talk with her about knocking and boundaries, lol Edit: Wood is the dude who slapped the Nazi for having a Swaztika in that other story I told.

It honestly seems more like Wood is going to do whatever he can to keep my brother safe from crime now that they’re outside. Wood sells weed in Hollywood legally now, he’s completely on the up and up. Once you get to the point where NBA players are calling you directly there’s no point in running side hustles in the Deep South, 4,000 miles away where cops hate you anyway. I have many years of experience with these types of dudes and he’s not setting off my spider sense. I don’t doubt for a moment that someone somewhere is trying to get my brother involved in stupid poo poo, but we’re making it clear that’s not what our family is about anymore. He wants a house and dog and mother and brothers that love him? Fine, we’re here, but no bullshit, no wipwop, no schemes. We can’t stop his friends from sending him money, but he can’t go anywhere or do anything without us. He has no phone, no car or license, no bank account, he can’t even get to the gym without me.

Does 'Wood' own multiple dispensaries or something? Last I checked a lot of them make okay-but-not-amazing money since the Mary-j boom kind of peters out after the initial hype in most legal states. If he's partying with AAA company and rockin cars more expensive than houses feels like he'd need to be way more than just a dealer
