It's a bit sad that a movie with Chan and Schwarzenegger is going to be a big nothing, not even an interesting failure. I remember reading that Drive with Mark Dascascos and Bokeem Woodbine was originally written for Stallone and Chan. The myth of gawain and the green knight is cool and creepy and could work really well in this context. The myth goes: a green knight travels to arthur's court and challenges them to a test of bravery. He drops an axe and says: "hit me with this axe however you'd like! And in one year I'll hit you the same way." Arthur's knight Gawain takes the axe and chops off the green knight's head. Pretty smart! Now he doesn't need to worry about retribution in one year. But, the green knight, now headless, picks up his head and is like: "ok see you in a year," and walks out. Gawain spends 11 months making GBS threads himself, and then goes on a quest to seek out the green knight and end the challenge. (i won't spoil how it ends)

The look of the Green Knight strongly reminds me of the TV series Hannibal, when Will dreams about Hannibal as a dark, antlered figure with Mads Mikkelsen's face as a mask. Green Knight looks good, but I hope it goes in even stranger directions than we see in the trailer. Because we see the green knight clearly in the trailer, seems to kind of give the game away.

Ehhhhhh. It's fine, but I think I'm over the slow, dour Bond songs. I miss Duran Duran, or Tina Turner, or Chris Cornell. Casino Royale is my favorite Bond movie. But I wish they'd end the "Bond is sad" era and get around to being fun again.
