Knowing Ramirez, it's probably less that than concern trolling gullible Democrats into believing that Bernie is automatically doomed because "ooga booga socialism".

Still though, it takes the common position that the GOP want to do the right thing, but can't because they're cowards. Just once, I'd like to see a cartoon where they are doing the same thing as Trump because it's what they want to do.

I dunno but the news and political cartoons and Dem politicians and everyone constantly gives them the benefit of the doubt and calls them a coward. It's like no one even considers the other possibility. Drives me nuts.

Because it’s in their interest to spin it as one bad apple causing trouble, and that removing him fixes it.

If Trump is just the end result of over half a century of the wealthy funding a gaggle of ghouls to allow for even grosser accumulation of wealth built on the backs of otherwise invisible “undesirables,” then it’s a systematic issue and they can’t just trot out a kindly centrist to put out some extremely milquetoast legislation in the hopes it’ll pacify the masses for another four years.

Democrats especially don’t want this because that means they’ve allowed this poo poo to go on. Then you may realize that the party is just made up of the wealthy elite who understand the importance of spending a little money to maintain a tolerable enough standard of living to keep the guillotines at bay.

So yeah, even if Trump loses there’s a going to be a tremendous job of pushing back against the notion that things are back to “normal”. Harder than defeating Trump, at least until the boomers die.

It's a hard world for little things.
Republicans, like internal combustion engines, are outdated, over-loud, and have inferior performance compared to greener alternatives; they only win because the rules are rigged to prevent the greener options from even competing; and nevertheless they are destined to be replaced by those greener options within our lifetimes. Why are they in the desert climbing on hoodoos?

The hoodoos are a visual symbol that indicates the inherent nature of the two main characters' do-nothing, zero-stakes stances. If any real child or coyote leapt onto and off of hoodoo formations as Carmen and Winslow do, the thin spires and carefully-balanced stacks would collapse under the stress. But Carmen and Winslow are in perfect balance - believing nothing, taking no positions, inoffensive even to the ground they walk on - and so they have no effect on the fragile rock formations. :pseudo:

True, I was thinking of pressured air powered engines, which something being worked on in a European country at one point. The idea was that you'd naturally collect air by driving along and a system would pressurize the air, resulting in cool air as your primary exhaust. It never really came together since it'd be too heavy to work and too slow to work on the fly but they nevertheless got stuff like buses working on it, with various stations to let you refill on pressurized air.

It usually depends on how much illustrations you have in the book or at what point you were involved in the process. Just because you drew the cover and a couple of doodles inside the book doesn't instantly make you a co-author, else the editor and other people who worked on the book should also be named in the front cover. It also depends on how prestigious they considered by the publisher.

Eg. here's the first edition of The Hobbit in Finnish, illustrated by Tove Jansson (she originally did the illustration for the Swedish edition). No mention of the illustrator apart from the signature.

Here's a later edition, at this point Tove Jansson is a National Treasure and is seen as an equal to Tolkien.
