got 1 more week of guaranteed work and pay, then we're being told to stay away with no pay unless the government comes up with a viable option to keep people paid. oh but you have to come in straight away if called so don't you go looking for other work you scum

a local brewery has a bunch of beer that's going to go off soon so they're selling it cheapish and delivering it for free. i'm tempted to get 20L for £50 but it has to be drunk in a week which would be a decent effort

Hello, dear
I have always found bottled beer to be fine even about a year past its best before date

Inexplicable Humblebrag
Sep 20, 2003

beer doesn't immediately kill you once it hits its sell by date. it'll just start to deteriorate in taste a bit. hop compounds don't last forever, and places can't sell past the sell-by date

if it's a keg it'll just go flat, which is worse

Hello, dear
I did once buya bottle of wine that was well past its best. It had gone a funny colour and I thought it'd be okay to just make spritzers with (wsa a bit of a low point) but it really was terrible. It smelled like hairspray and had a disgusting aftertaste that I still can remember
