Netflix needs to buy the rights to a shitload more Jeopardy episodes though; I'd happily watch Ken's entire first run for example. Or literally any episodes from 1+ years ago so I don't remember poo poo about them. The 40-odd that they have right now are NOT SUFFICIENT.

I think it is to stretch out the amount of time until they run out of new episodes. They're trying to figure out how to do more games; they've been looking for people in the LA-area who can go on the show. I think they're hoping to be able to start taping again before mid-June, and then hopefully get a few weeks ahead so they don't have to pause.

I'm not at all looking forward to the what was it, four games spanning ten episodes? But I am looking forward to James getting his rear end kicked by Ken again.

Hulu has a bunch, but the emphasis is way more on the college tournaments and stuff. I think I blew through all of the regular episodes they had in a day.

They're breaking up the 4 hour-long episodes into 8 30-minute episodes, so there shouldn't be too much filler. The other two episodes be Ken's first game and Ken's last game on his original run.

Oh drat, you got cold messaged by that guy too via FB Messenger? Is it the same guy on the same account sending the same messages? I know FB probably doesn’t give a poo poo about people mass reporting him either.

I never got one because I’m a dude, but the constant horror stories from female contestants makes me wonder if this dude just FB searches every “attractive” female Jeopardy contestant and messages them if he finds them. I think the worst I got was some Mitchell Hodack stuff via the main Jeopardy page.

I still think the worst any female contestant got that I remember was Talia Lavin, after she went viral for that Turd Ferguson thing, and then people started commenting on her appearance. At least she seems to have come out rather well from it, and is still doing great political commentary nowadays.

The bra dude is always using different accounts. Sometimes they're female accounts, sometimes they're male, but yeah, almost everyone gets them. I know some women get them multiple times as well. I'm pretty sure he does just search for most of the female contestants. I luckily have not been a victim of Mitchell Hodack's attention.

There have definitely been worse stories than Talia Lavin (which is not a good story). I'm not going to repeat the stories here because what happens in the Jeopardy women's group stays in the Jeopardy women's group but I'll just say that the fact that the teen tournament involves teens does not stop the worst of the bad people that watch this show.

I didn't groan at "Young Adult Fantasy" or "She wrote" or whatever phrase was used. I groaned at a terribly trite blurb. That's not the same as people using personal attacks against a woman and coming just short of "shrill" or "hysterical" and it definitely wasn't targeted at any genres.

I'm a woman who reads (and works in) the genre. Saying "ugh" to a very trite blurb is not a personal attack and definitely isn't on the level of the other stuff.

So, we’ll go with the “you didn’t mean it that way” thing, but how about just take a step back, obviously others did take it that way whether you meant it or not.

It sucks to be having some big argument derail in this thread right now (not to ignore valid points on people being creepy and awful to women). Even if they do some format of Jeopardy with locals, We have like, 2 weeks of normal Jeopardy left. It won’t be the same after that no matter what. How about we all stop arguing and bitching on all these little things, and just enjoy this last little bit of hope before Corona virus takes this poo poo away from us too.

I don't begrudge anyone taking a shot at someone they thought was taking their own shot at women in general. I don't consider it a "little thing." We should always be trying to catch that kind of poo poo whether it was intended or not.

Thanks. They do warn us to lock down our social media with a bit of a "especially women" comment added in, but they definitely don't tell you just how bad it's going to be for some contestants, no. Some get it worse than others, because you never know what contestant random creepos are going to decide are perfect for them.

My guess is because Hamlet is the longest Shakespeare play he went with a character from that, except 90% of that play is just Hamlet whining about how much his life sucks.

Meanwhile 90% of Othello is Iago talking about how evil and scheming he is, it was always going to be that one.
