Pastor Anna gets a rich friend to buy it from Mars as a favor. It's gifted to the crew as payment for escorting Clarissa to Earth for trial. I think the show is well past that now.

Yeah, I just assumed the combination of them saving the solar system twice and MRCN decomissioning everything along with Avarsala advocating for them made Mars just say fine, keep it.

Every time I do a rewatch, it jumps out at me in the penultimate episode of season 3, Drummer's not got her smokey eye make-up when she wakes up with her busted back, but she does have it when Naomi comes to see her. Wonder if it's a simple continuity mistake or she's just that committed to the look that it was the first thing she did before trying to get back on her feet?

I was really unhappy with Season 1, in part because Avasarala wasn't written or played as the foul-mouthed force of nature she is in the novels, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Season 2 was a huge step-up over season 1. One thing that the books consistently do better than the show is the action scenes. You'd think they would be better in a visual medium but due to time and budget constraints the TV show's fight scenes are brief and serve to move the story along. For example, the Clarissa Mao/Naomi fight in season 3 is a quick two minute fight with no real consequences while in the book it's a vicious back and forth that takes place over 1549 words that leaves Naomi seriously wounded. Am I crazy or didn't the show used to be in 4K? Because I'm watching it on Amazon Prime and it's in 1080P, and doesn't even seem to be in HDR.

When I look on a web browser they actually have separate entries for the HD version and 4k version. It's like they are categorized as different shows. The Prime UI is so hosed.

Well that's good to know since I'm rewatching it with my partner! She has noooo idea what she's in for, we just finished the ep where Holden and Miller get hit with the radiation and she was like "okay I think they're testing the bioweapon on all those people, and the radiation is them trying to find a cure so they can hold everyone ransom with this doomsday bioweapon" and I'm sitting there like

Yeah, looks like I can find the 4K HDR versions on the US Prime website, but not on the Finnish one, so maybe the 4K versions are only available in some regions for some loving dumb bullshit reason. And they wonder why people pirate poo poo.

Just finished Book 5 and I have to say it makes me excited for Season 5. The books up to that point were extremely light (almost non existant) when it came to characterization of the Roci crew, and much of what makes B5 interesting was already peppered throughout the first 4 season of the show to develop the characters. Im not sure how the pandemic is affecting production, but hopefully we'll get to see it.

My partner's various opinions on the best character: episode 1: omg Holden is so hot. Amos? wtf he's weird. episode 4: aww i really like Shed, he and Alex make a great team episode 5: okay i'm on team Amos now episode 7:  AMOOOOOOOOOOSepisode 8: okay look i didn't think Holden was THAT HOT at the beginning of the show, gosh he sucks episode 10:  AMOOOOOOOOOOS
