My uncle has a central vac and I lived in a house with one for a couple of years. I'm still not entirely sure why anyone would want it over a regular vacuum cleaner. Even storing and carrying around the hosing is more of a hassle than a standard vacuum cleaner.

If you don't already empty your vacuum cleaner bag/chamber outside, then I put you in the same group of hominids as that one dude who didn't think to wait until the shower had warmed up to get in.
