They'd probably argue that it's not slavery and surrender of free will, it's just brainwashing via infodump as an equitable exchange for a cheap payday loan or a grocery store discount. Really I think Elon wants people to stop making fun of him and instead of "shutting up" he's going for "neurochemically enforce loving Elon."

Musk is either overly ambitious, a showman, or both. The author is pretty sucked into it but I still think that's a good article that covers the utopian and dystopian elements of it - I just tend to believe it'll be shittier than it is good, but that's probably nostalgia talking. I am nostalgic for the pre-smartphone era but it's possible it really sucked and I just couldn't tell.

We already have the power to create a paradise on earth in terms of healthcare, food and education but we choose not to and to trust strongmen instead who help capitalists or some other political privileged class hoard all the resources. Like it's been an open secret the guy who does that site pretty much burned out and stopped updating it with any regularity and also began accepting money to write gushing articles about certain companies and individuals. Musk buys (or at least used to) a ton of his hype, and there's also more than a few cynical folks who stroke him off to try and earn 'thank you' bribes. Of course there's also a ton of true believers who do it for free now too.
