There's a good chance she'll have such a disgraceful 1st term she won't get second. For extra comedy: she could run again in 2028 against Newsom

IMO, "one-term Joe" is something folks tell themselves to help cope with the reality that we could very well have 8 full years of an increasingly far-gone Joe Biden. In any case, assuming Biden wins this cycle I think a Republican is infinitely more likely to win 2024 than Kamala, even if Joe dies or is somehow forced to do the right thing and not run for reelection. Her national appeal is just not there, she has little-to-no charisma (for a politician), and she doesn't seem capable of effectively managing a campaign.

I doubt they'd have the luxury of hiding him under a desk for weeks at a time as president so I think he'd degrade much faster than he is now. I guess it's possible he somehow manages to bumble along for a few years but I just don't see him finishing a term, let alone two.

kamala is an unlikable jackass who would be insanely and brutally destroyed by basically any republican in 2024. she brings literally nothing to the table other than a few shallow idpol signifiers

the main lesson to take away from josh collins is that socialists and workers need an independent working class party with a genuine democratic structure where the candidates and campaigns which are run are decided on democratically by the membership. and that would extend to where and when the campaigns would be run, and the actual nature of how they are run. not just determined by individuals making individual decisions to run. theres also been some examples where the labor/left vote has been split in primaries or general election like in seattle with shaun scott last year or minneapolis with ginger jentzen a few years back

what are you referring to w/ shaun? he lost in a head-to-head with the pro-amazon white guy

i don't think you're wrong exactly but what i take away from this is that the left can't just pay attention to "does this person have good politics/say the right things," but also "is this person competent enough to run a campaign and accomplish things while in office." we've been so on guard for people who are secretly centrists but we also need to look out for people who are just complete cranks or otherwise useless at doing things like "getting elected"

in the primary there was another candidate, cant remember her name, but who ran with a very similar platform and split the labor vote. had support from a lot of unions. scott won but in a jungle primary theres no reason to have multiple people like that which just splits the vote. to the second point, exactly thats why there needs to be democratic decision making and controls in the form of a party.

emily myers. specifically in seattle what I’ve seen a lot is conflict between the unions and the left which is just weird ideologically. the worst example was DSA running Jon Grant against the labor-backed Teresa Mosqueda, who even as a left-liberal labor candidate was a really good one

the weirdest part was that emily myers was basically not campaigning since she was going to school full-time, unlike shaun scott who was campaigning full-time. labor unions endorsing her was basically their equivalent of backing... josh4congress v:confused:v

From being a part of it, the Jon Grant thing was entirely because he would describe himself explicitly as a socialist (he isn't though) and because the leaders of Seattle DSA at the time wanted to boost their own profiles by having their own guy and train people for the Bernie 2020 campaign.

shahid and josh are loving scams. morse is a sexmonster. markey is going to get bodied by an incest baby. let's phone bank for jess:

Tonight, 63.1% of people we spoke to supported Jess on the phone. Only 5% supported Chris. Unfortunately, three had already voted for Chris.... but eight had already voted for Jess!

We can win this if we keep up voter contact. Please phone bank tomorrow with us, and get Jess elected. It's worth it, if only because the Ashley Feinberg article detailing that time C-SPAM elected a Senator will be insane.
