As far as I'm aware one of the draws to gunblade is that every class can use it, so if you're going to level a bunch of classes you can save a decent one with DEX or otherwise low requirements and always at least have something usable. That said, you can also just use Sigma series weapons and play whatever one your want.

For leveling other classes I kept a maxed Lambda and Sigma version of my favored weapon, as well as a Sigma launcher. It's usually not too hard to power level a new class to the point where you can at least use the Lambda weapons (especially if you have saved up xp tickets).

All class weapons are great for just slamming through levels on subs you don't mean to use all that much. For leveling hunter to 75 I just equipped my Yami, kept the dex mag, and kept mobbing in exactly the same way I would have if I had stayed as a braver.

Come to think of it, it's about time I enhanced that shooting drive :v:

Gunblade is used for very sweaty strategies where you need to get PP back in a hurry, from what I understand. But beyond that they're largely a failed concept of a weapon.

From what I understand, Luster's stances are not actually based on the element of the weapon, it's the other way around: Lusters change the element of the weapon based ON their stance.

That’s pretty much what I did, though I’m maining Hunter instead. The only time I actually used a class’ weapon was when I did Ranger since I enjoyed spamming the launcher.

If all you’re doing is spamming advanced urgent quests the damage is fine, and you can still slog your way through the daily super hard quest.

The cool part of PSO2 is that even during a high-end content raid, you can get away with doing your own thing and pretend that other 11 players are just npcs*. (That's what I tend to do when I'm solo)

*Some 'npcs' say very weird things, it is a-okay to ignore them.

Most goons are on Ship 2 with Ship 1 as a close second.

Also, maybe avoid block 69 on ship 2 if you don't want to see people spamming pornographic symbol art.

Played this game last night and just recently today. It's good, it's really good. Brings back memories of my time playing the two Phantasy Star Portable games back during school. I've been trying out most of the classes but I'm focusing on Hunter for now.

The nice thing about Hunter is that it also works well as a subclass for a lot of other classes if you do decide to switch later.

Fiddled around with the game a little, it seems fun! it seems to be more action packed and reflexive than MMORPG's tend to be, but I havent played one since WOW lol.

I made a CAST Ranger, gonna handle the big guns baby!

So where do I go to join clans or join the GoonSquad of this game?

I saw that I had a bunch of free experience tickets from the various freebies handed out, so I decided, "Why not use some?" So I used a bunch on my main class, thinking it's just character level that'll carry between all my classes.

I forgot it's not. So I wound up with Ranger lv. 36 already.

Whoops.

I've managed to play up to 10 hours if Steam is correct. Yeah, I love this game. Anyway, here's what my character looks like (obviously in the center). His name is Atma.

I was initially thinking on CAST since I always picked them but the fact that you can wear a suit in the beginning was too alluring to ignore. Besides I can make an alt someday.

Yes, your main or sub class has to be Force, Techter, Bouncer or Summoner.

If your subclass is Hunter you can get the skill that gives you a chance to survive a killing blow if you're above 1HP, after maxing it out it has a 75% chance to trigger.
Then at some point later they'll add a new Fighter skill that lets you survive any killing blow if you're in Limit Break mode but it cancels the mode and increases its cool down before you can use it again, if you have both of them the game does the 75% check on the Hunter skill before the Fighter's skill so if you have something healing you when you survive at 1HP you actually have a lot of survivability in Limit Break.

It's not so bad when you get used to the weapon actions (though in the case of Double Sabre you do need to pick up DS Wind Parry) and maybe put a couple points into Step Advance, but it's certainly...an adjustment period. When we get the Lv85 skills you get Overload Insurance at least, and if you're subbing Hunter (no reason not to) then you can take Iron Will too.

So far my only gripe about PSO2 is that the soundtrack is utterly forgettable. PSO's music made that game, and even Universe had some pretty good tunes from what I remember (not much). PSO2's is just so. . . muted most of the time.
The music system PSO2 uses is actually very complex. For area BGMs, there's an algorithm that splices together tens to hundreds of pieces on the fly depending on the situation that is playing out. It's actually really impressive, but sometimes the result doesn't sound like it flows super well, depending on the area. I'd recommend giving the OST versions a listen, they are all quite good.

I realize this is subjective, but for my money, PSO2 has the best music in the series. It also has the most music, by far. There's seriously a ton of it. Pretty much all the boss BGMs are absolute bangers, too. Especially the big EQ raid bosses.

There are a few camo in that shop that will work with several weapon types, too. Most show the compatible types but there are some weirdly-worded descriptors for some like Leaf in Autumn Breeze (something like that) that will work on things like TMGs even though they aren't listed. Is there a way to preview those with your equipped weapon type?

I appreciated the Profound Darkness having PS4 arrangements in there, at the very least. Elsewise, yeah, Sega's always been huge about music so it's no surprise this game has a lot going on in that regard.
