I am winning.

The Late Johnson's DVice chimes, bringing up first an image of the Concordant Company logo, followed by Hilde Stahl's calm, expressionless face. "Wrecker Johnson. As they trudged down the fat-lanes, the last of the gristlegrinders who'd hounded Derek to death came electro-baying in continued pursuit of Shines-in-Heaven. Knowing it'd avoid him in favor of meat to carve, Ned slammed on the brakes, making HurtBurn's heels squickily dig into the tarmac-grist. For a moment teetering, he cartwheeled his rig's arms around, momentum tearing the ground under its feet into open sores as he spun 180, suddenly facing squarely in the direction of the four-legged synth.

Twin NsinR8Rs lowered as the gristlegrinder's threat heuristics made it skid to a stop and glance desperately around for something - anything - to hide behind. The flamers' signal lights then lit up new signage on the right-hand gun. Somehow - when he'd popped the hatch earlier - Ned had gotten his Saf-T Pal to deco-tag the side of the NsinR8R. It was the kind of firm statement that only someone who was supremely confident they wouldn't be cripplingly sued for its misuse would dare to deploy.

KISS THE COOKER it said. The gristhound's saw-servos gave a surprisingly pitiful whine as it observed the lights bloom down the end of the broiler's barrels.

"Gotcha, ya growly nut-mutt," said Sidious, smile disturbingly wide as a finger plunged down the trigger and set the synth's world on fire.

Listen Along: Dead Man's Party - Oingo Boingo

In their springing Bounders, Theo Reticule and Dunk Tuggum were neck-and-neck in their race to get inside the rig silo first. Both of their greased-up lightning-fast rigs pounded up the building's meaty shores at full Bounder speed just as Bonny-Anne Elsewhere was slowly trudging inside the silo solo with her Gamma Enforcer.

"Made it!" Theo cheered, once he'd cleared the entrance to the silo's main hangar. He threw out his pent up energy in a shout. "Whoo!"

"That was a close call, Dunk!" Theo admitted, hopping his Bounder down to a trot and circling it around. "I think I might've been in the back with that last leap, but, Bonny-Anne: who did you see make inside first?"

The audiophile wrecker Theo was so caught up in his race with Dunk and his music stream that he'd completely forgotten about the Carnifex rig they'd come back here to 'jack. He glanced about the rig silo, saw Ra Maximum's sliced up 'borg bits, and heard the stomping and whirring of rig-rippers behind him as the giant Pertinax Beta rig approached.

"Ah, right." Theo revised, hardening in the face of grim reality. "Forgot we had ourselves a dead man's party. Friendly competitions can wait."

Theo deftly flipped his bounder back around to face the inbound Carnifex and let loose with his rig's Breach Assault weaponry, strafing around the mechanical giant with his Bounder's superior mobility.

"Hya! This is for Ra, you giant guzzunt!" Theo roared.

While he wanted to make the Carnifex less effective in this fight, Theo didn't want to damage the rig overmuch with his weapons. Bonny-Anne Elsewhere had other plans for it, Theo surmised, so he tried to lead the Carnifex with his shots to encourage the Carnifex to stay put. Theo and Dunk just needed to keep the enemy Beta rig pinned down and distracted long enough for Bonny-Anne to get in a hit with her rigspike...

Sponsors: Yo yo yo, so Magitek Mafia - that last drone was obviously bunk, but I hope we learned our lesson. From here on out, I want only HEALdrones, okay? As the two wreckers moved further into the interior of the meateor, the baying of the hound behind them grew steadily louder, until at last it could no longer be ignored. Turning nearly in place, Derek trained Hurt-burn's flamers on the offending creature and began filling the putrid air with the smell of burnt plastics and the sounds of synthesised yelps as the synth's frame slowly melted under the intense heat produced by the rig's weapons.
But the dog wasn't the only enemy daring to challenge the duo, a mutant was currently moving to intercept their path as well. Shines quickened her jog into a sprint and leapt at the offending interloper, going straight for the throat. With one big effort she forced her jaw to close and then began tearing it away from her victim again, quickly ending their struggle as they bled out into the meateor.

The Late Johnson had spent most of the map running from these kinds of enemies much to his great annoyance. Not this time though, now that he had meatsh-friends around him and Sputnik he could start shooting without the fear of being immediately murdered.

He saw the buffs going out on the Manburgler that Acolyte just tapped, he reached over and flicked a switch on his EZ-Snipe as it whirred into life. "Your buffs aren't gonna help you shitboot."

He squared up a shot on it's grey matter and fired, only for some of the squishy meat ground to give way under his foot and spoil his shot, getting it in the shoulder instead of the head. "Dangit! This bloody meat rock is the worse, I'd take the Moon over this one."

Vatman was starting to run out of stamina as he was forced to retreat from the Horror once again after yet another bout of slippery greez-wrestling, hit tacticortex shutting down unnecessary neurological systems as it overclocked in an attempt to find a solution.

Finally, something clicked.

That mound of burning lipids he'd used as cover several times by now was structurally unstable. If he'd just give it a good shove, with all his weight, he should be able to topple the whole thing on top of the horror after him. This plan in mind, the neonderthal baited the horror into a small grease pit, that held it still exactly long enough for him to dump the entire pile on it.

Bonny-Anne pops hatch well before reaching the rig silo. One foot planted on the lip of the cockpit, she closes her eyes as the rig fords the grease river. The subdermal circuits light up and her hair rises in a static halo as she pours power into her rigspike. Encoding a patterned charge in her weapon she merely needs to make contact with the enemy rig while the pilot is too distracted to run counterintrusion progs. Seeing the bounders of her crew descend upon the silo in parabolic fleetness she knows that won't be a problem.

Her rig strides into a warzone, the 'fex whipping scythe blades through the air as it tries to connect with the harassing bounders. BAE lines up the shot.

The Bounder moved at a breakneck clip towards the rig silo. Out of the corner of his cybereye, Dunk Tuggum spied a golden opportunity. He jerked the rig's controls into a sharp right towards a embankment that Dunk's EyeSoft tagged for Optimal Ramp-age. He went airborne, trajectory perfectly aimed. There was the screeching of metal as bounder met with Carnifex. The D-Breaker slammed the controls downwards. He had time for one utterance.

"Grab a cold boy and OPEN THE GATES©"

The bounders assault cannons hammered the top of the Carnifex, there was a crackle and sound not unlike tearing paper as the mighty rig's active defenses were overwhelmed. Dunk leapt back to safety, narrowly avoiding a retaliatory swipe. Yes, this would do [nicely].

Listen Along: God is in the Radio - Queens of the Stone Age

The Wrecker-pilot Theo Reticule had just outfitted his Gamma Bounder with a brand new paint job and a spiffy new Magitek Mafia Resource Acquisition Tooled Skimmer, and despite everything that had happened since, Theo was still in a state of shock processing what had just gone down in the fight against the Carnifex.

While Theo had suppressed the Carnifex with his Breach Assault cannons, Dunk Tuggum had charged in at the giant Beta rig and slammed into its side to knock the mechanical terror off-balance, all while Bonny-Anne Elsewhere sprinted forward toward the Carnifex in her Gamma Enforcer with her hatch popped in order to secure the Rigspike hit. The spear tip of Bonny-Anne's Mr. Stinger punctured through the Carnifex's armor and delivered the rig some malware-based orders to shut it down, deactivating the Beta rig's weapons right as the Carnifex was wheeling its rotating ripper-arms directly towards Bonny-Anne's exposed throat.

That's when Traditional Parrot - Bonny-Anne's pet Hoarding Horror - arrived on the scene to help out its mother figure. With a sticky frog tongue, the infant Horror-lizard lashed out and grabbed a support beam holding up a precariously-damaged section of the roof structure balanced over the Carnifex rig. The baby Horror pulled, and the entire upper building came crashing down over the Carnifex's cockpit.

It was the perfect storm of unintended events, and yet, despite that, the three of them were still alive to tell the tale. Ra Maximum's horrid death to the whirling blades of the Carnifex had been avenged by them all, but most especially by their Hoarding Horror mascot 'Traditional Parrot,' who - quite adorably - had only been acting on instinct to help its parent.

In his Gamma Bounder, Theo worked his way around the damaged Rig Silo collecting whatever bits and bobs he could of the broken building with his rig's new scrap scraper: the MM-RATS. While he worked, Theo made sure to leave a wide enough berth around the rekt Carnifex rig itself - that particular treasure trove of synthetic parts and armor plates was Bonny-Anne's to do with as she pleased.

"Up here in the sponsor lounge we run afoul of this kind of ire now and then, especially if we represent something a hapless Wrecker blames for their present misfortune." He gestures down toward a threev dimensional holo of the playing field projected into the centre of the lounge. "Such is the case down there with the less successful sister of our colorful hostess Hazel, coupled in her case with a particularly large chip on her shoulder. It's understandable, especially when you factor in the cheap ratings and luxegrabbing posturings of that mustachioed clown Donato and his little band of merry mafiosi. I don't blame her for being angry, but it's common knowledge that all equipment and materiel used in Wrecking Crew has been carefully tuned and gamified by Wrecking Crew murderologists, and that first and foremost Wreckers live and die by their wits. One can't blame Pertinax for one's own failures. One can, though, hold moustache twirling dunces up as objectionable. It's almost as though he's trying to goad me into airstriking the poor girl."

Listen Along: Do the Astral Plane - Flying Lotus

The rig-bound Wrecker Theo Reticule unhooked his reloader tube from the MM-RATS console deck with a hissing pop. His suit's supply of medifluid had been partially refilled from the supplies he'd salvaged at the rig silo, which was a good thing for Theo because the Wrecker had some serious self-healing to do. That last drone that Magitek Mafia had sent him wasn't quite as high-quality as the standard contactless liver-scrubbers he was used to at the discount heath centers, and that was saying a lot. Theo had remembered feeling sick to his stomach before the DTOXdrone had struck him, almost like he was going through liver failure (like the time he drank all that chocolate liqueur), but now that he'd been hit with the DTOXdrone's irradiating blast, Theo was was feeling an entirely different kind of worse: flush-faced and drained of energy with the chills, almost like he'd had a fever and a cold coming on all at once. His muscles felt like wet noodles and he tasted metal on his tongue as he lurched about in his Bounder's bouncing cockpit.

'TerraBrad' was the designation of Theo's rig, and now that the suped-up Gamma Bounder had gotten its custom, grease-proofed black and gold-trim paint job at the rig silo it was ready to look the part of a magical suit of armor.

As for his rig-piloting skills, Theo had managed to install the Combat Suite Armor Mods that he'd recovered from Ra Maximum's remains, and he was shocked to see how much easier they made everything inside the cockpit of a rig. Suddenly, Theo's interactive visuals were overlaid with weapon-aiming assistants, overdrive modes, and adaptive shielding systems for TerraBrad, allowing him to access new strategies in his rig-riding that he'd never known were possible. There was a silver lining to Ra Maximum, Theo mused, both in life and in death.

"Thanka, Ra, for everything." Theo murmured inside his cockpit, looking at his Pulse Pounder and reverently placing the dead man's hat on his head.

The lights of Theo's rig interior suddenly flashed bright as the Wrecker received a live update to his mini-map through official Wrecking Crew channels. There were just a few clusters of Wreckers spread throughout the meateor's interior. Some of them were by the Fabric8r, some of them were scattered to the north of the Luxe Crucible, and Theo and his group were over by the Rig Silo, right next to...

"Holl'on, is that Wrecker number three over there: Vatman Jones?" Theo blurted out over the comms. He broadcast the message far afield so that everyone within his Spinal Array's comms range should theoretically be able to hear him. "Helloz, Vatman."

When Vatman Jones didn't immediately respond to the comms callout, Theo reined in his permissions and spoke to only his local rig-piloting companions Bonny-Anne and Dunk Tuggum as an aside, "Dunk, think we should buzz by him in our Bounders, see what he does? Unless he's chillax, his head's worth stacks. While we're at it, I'd like to flush out that Sarco-Ho, too. Whaddya think?"

With a couple quick adjustments with his CS Modules, Theo had diverted TerraBrad's weapons power to its leg pistons, increasing the Gamma Bounder's already-impressive speed without draining excess power. The irradiated rig-riding dog-boy was ready to go!

Movement: (ALL may peek)
> With his Bounder's 4 Jump movement, Theo hops northwest to the bone zone and back east, building momentum!: 142 -> 133 -> 122 -> 123 -> 134!

Sponsors: Alrighty, Magitek Mafia - your MM-RATS is working beautifully! I was able to recover most everything that Ra Maximum had on him... he had quite a lot of good stuff, including that hat you wanted! I've put it on top of my cranial cap, just to see how it looks! It's a little beat up, to be honest, but I'm sure it'll be a hit with all the fans at home! I feel like I'm channeling the Wreckers of seasons past!

Retrieving the eggy stand-by form of the recharging Autofalconoid "McThrall" former companion to the late McBuster, from the victorious talons of 2Can with unabashed glee, Lónan beams at her camera-drone following. "Now this is the start of a proper menagerie. Just like they used to tell us in Simurghschool, all you need is a few birbs and a plan, and soon all the skies of the world will be yours!"

After this important message is conveyed, her dVice bleeps a torrent of new message notifications. The (ex) pirate swiftly replies, offering Talcum and Cyka scan-data and air superiority in return for future cooperation and crafting services.

Hefting her only somewhat leaking explosive barrel on top of her Motile Biocover, she prepares her Wrexo-suit's systems with a few choice gobs of PowerCell, fresh from the Fabric8tr.

They say that he who dies with the most Opil wins.

I am winning.

A chime on Wrecker DVices, followed by the Concordant Company logo and Hilde Stahl's impassive face. "On behalf of the Concordant Company, let me extend my hope for Wrecker Lónan's success in delivery of unstable materials. With proper contract negotiation and representation, such freelance work can prove even more profitable than ever before. Let me also express my hopes for effective cooperation between Wreckers, working together to mutually support each others' goals.
Director Stahl out."

OLD MAN YELLS AT CLAN

"Aethelred my lad I could have sworn I heard you talking that big red mechanical monstrosity of yours up before all this kicked off. While it managed to turn one wrecker into delicious looking cutlets, I did expect more. Ah well, guess I can't have everything."

"But I can have that wonderful looking hat!"

All Wrecker D-vices ping and make a little warbling sound reminiscent of trumpets being used from the wrong end.

"Hello my delightful friends, I know it's been a while, but I must ask you all a favor. While I know you are all eventually going to send me the head of that troglodyte Vatman Jones, and don't worry dear Vatman I promise to have you stuffed and preserved and hung in a place of honor, I would also like that hat off of the dogboy's head. Whoever gets me that hat not only will receive that lux prize I know you all want, but I may just dip into my coffers and send a little extra your way."

Replacing the mining challenge since it can't happen any more. Haberdasher's Dream: Send the Cursed Chapeau to Diamond IAMC. Extra points if Vatman's head is wearing it and you send them both.
