I read they reason that when TNG wanted to show Starfleet from an earlier period, they wore TOS Movie jackets without the turtleneck is because no one could find one of the turtlenecks in costume storage so they just had Jack Crusher wear the uniform without anything underneath.

Which looks terrible.

The Picard uniforms looked weirdly tailored, like they made them in a hurry without properly mesuring the actors that were going to wear them. And Disco uniforms look like track suits, or pajamas.

Given that Starfleet were apparently still using those uniforms until a decade before the Ent-D launched it would be cool to see a photoshop with the crew in those older uniforms.

Among other things that looks like a mix of the Starfleet delta and the Klingon logo. One of my hopes for Discovery S3 is that they tie up the Klingon stuff from the first couple of seasons by just having someone make an off-hand comment about how the Klingons joined the Federation centuries ago.

Lower Decks episode right there. Classic repeated time travel story about trying to get a certain result and it constantly going wrong, with the gag being that the crew are trying to get a good uniform future and not a bad uniform future.

I mean the double percussion hit and orchestral sting at the very end.

Someone decided they needed the riff so they added it. Here's the extended theme.

Picard's main theme was pretty great and essentially a spoiler for the season. The use of a flute along with the riff that Batai plays in Inner Light.

  Can’t wait to see what LDS has in stock for us tomor—oh :smith:

I was thinking about Shaxs’ demise and how it’s not unlike that of another chief of security aboard a starship that bit it early in a fantastic series. I wonder if they’ll parallel the two.

Also I hope they make it a thing where the chief of security checks out every season.

MikeJF

The Disco theme is too ambient for me, it needs a tune. Ambient works for Picard but not for a ship series. LDS's is great.

Also, it looks like robbits will be a big thing this season? I wonder if there'll be a theme with them being semi-intelligent and working with their rights, maybe an extension of the synth stuff, or maybe they'll be von-neumanning as a key to helping build things back up and going post-scarcity again.

It would be neat if the copy of the Voyager EMH from "Living Witness" would show up at some point. That should be from around the same time.

Quick glance says it's the Omega theory, which has been going around. Maybe, but it seems like interstellar travel is still a thing generally? If it was an Omega event then they'd all be straight up at sublight.
