Honestly what I take away from the Greenwald thing is it's terrifying how easy it is to make people fall into the propaganda hole. A lot of us assume we're too aware/too smart for it to work on us and it seems to be a short path from there down to conspiracytown because if you assume it doesn't work on you then what you're seeing must be real/accurate. It's honestly pretty terrifying to realize how easy it is to manipulate people by pointing at something they feel in their gut. It also makes me genuinely scared that I'm falling into similar traps and straight up not realizing it. Thankfully most of the things I feel like I believe in are things I can assume are verifiable truth but god knows that depending on how the election goes my brain is going to be super vulnerable to conspiracy theories considering all the verifiable fuckery going on.

Tucker has no beliefs of his own. He is a bought-and-paid mouthpiece for billionaires, and he is somehow wholesome enough to beguile and bewitch an entire generation of codgers who are, at all times, milliseconds away from signing away all their assets for 10,000,000 Iraqi dinar or commemorative plates or whatever. The Hunter Biden story didn't incept every boomer the way Clinton's email bullshit did because a) it wasn't announced by the FBI director, b) it didn't directly implicate Joe of anything and c) it's a lazy, flimsy scandal because nepotism is rampant in every loving layer of employment in this country. No one cares and he's distancing himself. He is a well-lubricated weathervane, pivoting with ease.

Could he have done literally anything and won because he's the Not Trump? Would appealing to the left make the numbers even better? Maybe, maybe not, but we know this way is working.
