My primary computer isn't available right now so my only option is to play Genshin at a crappy ping on my phone, which is okay for dailies and such but miserable for Dragonspine. Do we know any event details for how much I might be missing out on if I wait until the 28th or so to start working on the actual event stuff?

VV shredding and grouping/infusion is so powerful that they can do amazing work for any team just holding a 4pc +0 VV set. Sucrose can be helpful with no investment at all, but she becomes legitimately comparable to C0 Venti in some ways with decent investment and constellations. Basically she needs to EM stack so she can share damage with your main carries to make up for the damage loss compared to running Venti. I think with enough EM and C6 she can do it, or at least do well enough that it's worth considering her intangibles (like burst particle generation and not pulling enemies out of melee range). I got a bunch of Sucroses from the permanent banner somehow so I'm going to start investing a team that looks like Xingqiu, Chongyun, Sucrose + additional greatsword user (probably Xinyan). The idea here is that Xingqiu's perma wet application and Chogyun's cryo applications will allow me to constantly shatter with Chongyun or Xinyan and Sucrose can buff up the party EM to make those shatter hits work.

The best part is how sustainable the BP sword makes her, she can stay on the field obscene amount of time using shield from support, her invincibility frames (dashing, skill teleport, burst) and little heals here and there. And it's just joy to see her whirling around. If you enjoy dancing type of combat (instead of more static claymore stuff), she's for you.

So act 3 and 4 you definitely won't miss. Act 1 right now is just quests and some minor non-timed challenges that you'll easily be able to do before the event ends. Act 2 looks like it will be some kind of repeatable event for currency, like the meteor event, so you might miss out on some time to play it. But Mihoyo said the events this time around wouldn't cost resin so you will probably be able to freely grind to get everything even if you start late.

i dunno what they did in this patch but now whenever i load into an area, there's a fairly good chance that anything except for the ground-level ground won't load in properly and i'll just clip through it. this includes mountains, hills, bridges, etc. it's happening in single player, co-op, hosting, client-side... it's difficult. e: but if you ever wanted to see stone gate from the inside of stone gate,  e2: also for wei hunters, the windrise spawn has changed slightly and he is (can be?) on the opposite side of the tree from where he used to spawn pre patch Fur20 fucked around with this message at 08:18 on Dec 24, 2020 |

 So as I was taking this picture, I thought about it a bit. The Moment of Syzygy event is just showing rewards for going from abyss level 1 to 8 isn't it? I thought it was going to give out 2400 primogems if you had beaten level 8. Am I right?

I got to the ice activators with the disabled ruin hunters but didn't have any ice guys on my team, so I pulled out my explore team at about level 40 or so consisting of Amber, Lisa, Kenya (whatever the ice guy is called) and Geo traveler and then everything popped off and seeing "you can't change party now" made me sad.

Finally started the Dragonspine stuff. This game has such an amazing soundtrack, and it's also a lot of fun exploring such a different environment. Makes me really excited to see what they do with future zones.

Benny did his best, but at WL6 I just couldn't chase all the eternally-backing-away-into-terrain enemies down while also healing. You need to find the hidden seelie to find the last red rock anyway. That's been a running theme the entire area. Guys getting dunked off cliffs to respawn at full health then immediately back towards the cliff again, backing up against cliffs so they're unreachable, dark souls 2 lazy susan upgrades on the big hillichurls and new robots... just a positioning nightmare. Really wish I had a VV set to give Sucrose just so I could pull them back in. Was not prepared to simultaneously grind up two new characters. :/

The only downside to them is that they're making me wish I had Klee to drop those ice shields quickly.  On top of that the hidden Boar King was hilarious. I saw these special boars, harvested them all, and then got promptly yeeted into a corner by this gigantic rear end boar boss out of nowhere looking to avenge his smaller brethren. Worst part is that there's no way to get heat back if you move that Seelie down to it's proper spot without resetting the boss. Albedo's C2 is worded (or translated?) really poorly. The damage buff only applies to his next ult. Not worth whaling for, e: whoops I reread the C2 description and it specifically does scale off def. That's somehow even dumber so his ult and skill scale off of different stats and can't both be strong at the same time, UNLESS you have C2... Dang, that sucks. He seems like he'd be an excellent energy generator if he doesn't have lovely energy gen issues like Zhongli does. Having a geo hit proc every attack would be great if it gave particles. Also, for those that don't know there might be a new bunker in Dragonspine. It's got five or so artifact pick ups. If it respawns then that's 10 quick artifact interactables per day.

So I’m seeing all these pictures of people high up and seeing the ground visible, yet every time I’m high up the ground is obscured by I’m guessing a thick cloud formation of atmosphere maybe? How can I make it so I can see the ground for miles away when I’m super high up?

between scaramouche and now the summit of dragonspire, it looks like the metaplot hints are going to be doled out pretty regularly. The shattered pillar matches up with the ones on the loading screen, so that ties "the sky is fake" pretty nicely with the whole 'loading screen matches real world time vs teyvat accelerated time' Guess the whole fatui gathering power thing will be to somehow invade there eventually?  Be interesting to see what's up with the floating mass the camera zoomed in on at the end that we've seen in they sky for a long time now.

Also, the new Cicin doesn't appear to be Honkified like the electro one is. Though it may be that the colors of the region are making it harder to notice any zombie-ish grey skin. On top of that the upper body is more covered, so I can't easily tell if there's something on their back like how the Cicin Electro mages had. So maybe something else might be going on with them? I'm also amused that they somehow managed to make the Cicin outfit even more stripperific what with the cutout skintight bodysuit and all. At this rate i'm going to assume any thirsty female NPC is secretly a Cicin mage.

Though if you can I'd try to hold out for a 5* that starts with 4 substats already. There's some variance there - some "4+" ones will start with 3 substats, and there are "5+" ones that start with 4. They even sort higher when you're sorting by level.

Well Barbara is guaranteed now, but not when the game was released when they made all these puzzles (well she was in a limited event). So they'll prob include some in the next area.

I'm glad they've cratered the health of the training dummies. Today I had one that was two groups of three. I think I might have been able to get them both with Lisa, but the aim just wasn't there, so I lined up one and then blew out the other with Kaeya. I don't fancy setting that one up to last-hit through trial and error.
