I love that their logo is an obvious knockoff of the Yves Saint Laurent font/style. It's like two bootlegs for the price of one!

The original jacket appears to be Alexander McQueen, though.

Well this poo poo took a while!

Prostormer! Air inflator... I thought this would be compatible with my knockoff stuff already acquired but nope. Might have a go at modifying the next item to change the rails etc for fun.

I think it's supposed to be compatible with the Dewalt batteries, not Makita, which is why I ended up just getting the Xiaomi self-contained thing. It was like $35 shipped from Spain and arrived in a week :smug:

Used it to inflate my winter tires which had been sitting since last winter from around 1.5 back to 1.8bar. It took a few minutes per 15" tire, so I doubt it can do it from completely flat to normal pressure in 6 like they claim, but it's good enough for situations like this, otherwise it's probably faster to just do it when refueling.

Also just received my USB 18650 cell.

On the actual battery it says 3800mAh instead of the awkwardly shopped 1500 (which is more likely accurate). I don't have a proper load to test it but I'll try to measure how much charge it takes later. It does work in my flashlight though, so there's that at least.

Reflective stuff isn't enough even if it's a full body suit because it only works if the car is pointed at you and it won't do anything if, for example, you and a car are coming to the same intersection perpendicular to each other. You need lights.
My dad bikes a lot and got a jacket like this, in addition to lights of course. It's better than a black hoodie or something, but it really only looks like in the photos at the right angle between the light source and the eye. Basically you have to be about to run him over to get the most benefit.

Cheers! I haven't played with Dewalt stuff, but luckily I have a Dewalt adaptor file to Makita so once my printers are done doing the current stuff - I can get to testing!

EDIT: I've seen they aren't Dewalt compatible so trying some other brands before I get the calipers out and design my own adaptor.

I remember one of the reviews saying that. Just checked and it's still there, at the bottom of the first page of reviews: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/400...earchweb201603_

It looks like it actually required a little modification to the device to fit though:

Why not both? If you have a set of usb headphones, you can plug them right in.

I like the idea of this kind of rechargeable battery, but sourcing it from Ali scares the poo poo out of me. Is there an easy way to be reasonably certain it won't blow up, potentially also destroying the device it's in?

Drain it and if it cuts off decisively at around 2 volts or earlier it's probably got ~some~ kind of protection in it.

Safety-pin-style is very uncommon for enamel pins, and in my experience is actually surprisingly insecure. Using a second safety pin or sewing the loops (if present) can reinforce those, but nothing is as sturdy as a straight pin with a locking pin back. This kind! Some people prefer the ones that you screw on with a tiny allen wrench, but those actually bend the pin and make it impossible to reconfigure poo poo when you need to move pins around. My jacket and bag are covered in enamel pins and I have never lost one with a locking pin back, though I've lost several badge/button style ones. Here's my pinniest jacket, which hopefully counts as credentials in this matter:

probably lots, like when you set the jacket down and a bunch of pins go flying off and you've gotta ask people "did you see where all those pins went?" and that's your conversation.

People my age and younger generally just say they like my jacket and move on, older ladies will want to have a conversation about Cool Jackets They Have Known, and older men try to be sassy about how much it weighs or how much noise it makes (they might be trying to neg me, I don't know).

But none of the pins go flying off! That's the whole point of the locking backs!! :argh:

Dude, ix-nay on the oice-vay.

I’m disappointed that those are actually attached to a jacket. I thought it was just sleeves that you put on to dress up your jacket.

Man, Maybe I should get that for the next time “upper management” comes to our location and all us plebs are ordered to dress up. It is a loving call center. And we still have to wear business formal when they come to the office.

I think it’s upper management’s way to keep us too stressed out to notice that they are illiterate.

That's some fairly specific tooling. If you're not looking to make thousands of them you might be better off making your own.

Otherwise, more likely to be on Alibaba than AliExpress.
