coin base. call ur bank first and ask them if they are gonna freeze ur bank account if u start buying this poo poo.

also, only invest if you can actually lose the money. like, if it's just a bit of a sad thing, go for it. think about it in terms of it being lost in a fire.

What do you mean by 'implode'?

The closest analogue to where the US is heading, based on how we organize our society and what our aristocracy values, is India or Brazil.

Those would be 'imploded' for a majority of the population, but for a lucky plurality they look similar to the United States today. I think we're likely to see traditional methods of transcending social class continue to wane, and a more stratified (and ossified) class structure come into focus for the majority of people; it's always been there, of course, but you can elide something like that with enough pomp and rhetoric and a few genuinely helpful social programs. Our current aristocracy has no interest in those things.

lol if your bank hasn't integrated directly with coinbase since like 2017

you can also trade bitcoin and some other poo poo on robinhood without ever having to do any of the stupid wallet poo poo through coinbase or another exchange. its not as nice as coinbase's gdax though if you're looking to do swing trading instead of just storing some buttcoins

for degenerate gambler canadian goons: yes you can use coinbase, but there’s a caveat. they have a credit card button to buy crypto, and you can click it and try to buy some, but then literally nothing will happen and you will be confused. turns out you cannot reliably use your credit card to buy crypto in canada. the big credit card companies apparently blocked too many transactions and brokers like coinbase just don’t allow them anymore and are too lazy to update their UIs. so you gotta use your debit card lmao

A banana republic, in other words.

Could the country implode without the rich feeling it? Sure. They already live with a lifeboat mentality. I don't know how else you can explain the explosion in wealth inequality over the last 30 years. Rich people aren't supposed to hoard all the money because it undermines the consumer economy on which everything is based. So if they're doing it anyway, they're basically pulling up the ramp to Elysium behind them. You've seen the stories of all these rich fucks decamping to their compounds in Montana or New Zealand or whatever. I suppose you could argue that climate change could spark a social fracturing that would affect the rich too.

But if the decade or so that I have been paying attention to this poo poo is any indication, apocalyptic thinking is rarely borne out. Reality is much more boring. Western decline is happening in gradual downward steps of crisis and recovery. Except each "recovery" makes up less ground than we lost. Give us 25 years and standards of living, energy consumption, life expectancy, etc. will all be a shadow of what they were at their peaks. But since it happens gradually it will just seem normal.

this makes no sense to me. on their website they claim you can borrow money at 5.9% APR but also you earn 12% interest “paid out daily”. is this not free money? what is this scam?
