Several episodes of Bojack Horseman but this moment primarily, especially at 0:26 https://youtu.be/lDdmBKP2uvk Also I recently binge-watched the entirety of that Jim Carrey show ‘Kidding’ and found myself either crying or on the verge of it towards the end of almost every episode.

Deep Glove Bruno posted:I can't tell if I'm just biased to my own poo poo, but it seems way more normal to me that these random songs would do it for me than a DS9 episode or Guardians of the Galaxy. I mean LOTR has like an hour of ending, at what point in the 20 different ending scenes do you even start to get upset? The specific moment in Guardians of the Galaxy when his mother is dying of cancer, I lost my aunt to lung cancer and that scene reminds me specifically of her in her death bed. For LOTR specifically when Aragorn tells the hobbits they bow to no one then everybody bows for them is visually powerful and an amazing cap to a long journey

It would be grave of the fireflies. I can't say consistently because I refuse to watch it more than the single time I did. Without a doubt I would cry again though. Best movie I've ever seen that I only want to see once.

every intro to the Civilization games since 4 its crazy but it works every single time, seeing the story of mankind starting out and then struggling with everything and then triumphing and coming together and launching into space and out to the stars looking back at the enormous journey and feeling like they're always been part of it all, we've all been working together all this time through all that sacrifice and horror to become great, and it's only the start of our journey and, the scope and humanity of it, and the realisation that i love humanity and that i need this to be true more than i ever needed anything, but also that i have not really been doing anything to make it true, even though I might have the capability to. i am tearing up a little now just trying to describe what i feel

I'm gonna have to go with: The ending of FF7, especially when the lifestream comes out of the ground and the music changes. After a hundred some odd hours invested, this seemed like the deepest ending ever at the time back in 1998. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22Dqy2jVqY0&t=443s As others have said, Diana's piano. poo poo makes me sad to this day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efW7buQYQMg Since others are on a Boards of Canada kick, Aquarius is my pick. Doesn't make me weepy but nostalgic for childhood. Even in my early 20's I considered it akin to audio kindergarten. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRcr5hYCxh0 Doesn't effect me as much now but this old WB cartoon with the dog and the kitten made me really sad for him when he thought the kitten was dead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0zTpPqaNeg As somebody else may have said, Cosmos by Carl Sagan makes me a bit misty eyed. Reminds me of a time when there was so much hope, of childhood and of the general zeitgeist of the times and of my early life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT_nzxtgXEw

Pixar’s Up gets plenty of people, especially the intro. The intro isn’t what gets me - it’s the whole movie. It came out right around when I was a new freshman in college and mom’s cancer came back for the last time. My dad was much older than my mom. There I was a rambunctious kid looking for adventure and full of piss and vinegar with a broken, old dad. I’d like to think that in the years since I’ve made him as young as he can be, again. I hope he’s had his own Up. I think, or hope, he’d say he has. I’m never going to be able to watch that fuckin’ movie ever again, it’ll break me.

Drunk Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njj7wgVmz_Y The studio wanted to cut this part from the movie because they thought it was too slow and dragged on. How wrong they were. It’s incredibly hard to play a convincing drunk without looking like a stereotypical *hic hic pink elephants* drunkard, but Pat Morita is just a fantastic actor. This scene gives the Miyagi character depth and shows he is much more than a wise magical sensei, but rather a tortured soul and a normal human being. Every little nuance of this scene is somber, but when Miyagi relays the army message about what happened to his wife and child in the internment camp, I just start tearing up.

This America's Got Talent audition where a singer who had gone deaf details her last day at music school: https://youtu.be/oHUuCLgfMpo E: And then the part where her dad recounts her telling him that she can't remember what his voice sounds like anymore E2: This one documentary about parents with children with neuroblastoma. The cancer used to have a crazy high mortality rate, and one doctor who was researching a promising treatment ran out of funds. The parents reached out and he said he'd need a couple million to finish. What really did me in (other than y'know, kids getting loving cancer) is that the parents managed to raise the money, but someone being interviewed said that they did the fundraising knowing that the treatment wouldn't come in time for their own children.
