I think I'll probably take a look at Soul Hackers first though because it's the formula I'm least familiar with.

If you play Soul Hackers just be sure to read up about how Demon Loyalty works because it's sort of an annoying mechanic and I'm not sure how well it's explained in the game itself.

Someone said Yasuda's girls look like they were hanged upside down, then had their images rotated and it's probably the most accurate way to describe their problems.

Im restarting Devil Survivor 1 and l like Yuzu for a lot of reasons but mostly because in what is I believe a unique view in the games I play at least she is offered the chance to be a chosen child, a warrior of destiny like all the Personas and responds "how about we give these to the police, swear to never speak of them, and hide in a closet somewhere til this all blows over?

She's quite relatable.

Between work and marriage (in a tiny Japanese apartment), handhelds are about the only way I can play longer games these days. I've had P5 sitting half-finished for a month or two now but I've completed several 3DS SMTs in the same time frame.

I don't think the Masquerade Kids are actually in any way responsible for everything going to poo poo in IS.

It was the fault of various adults and one embodiment of the evil of man or whatever Nyarly is.

its kids initially (and understandably) messing up because of the whole deal with maya moving away, but it seems like nyarly would have meddled around anyhow so

Well it was wrong what they did but nothing serious would have come of it had Sudou not shown up to burn the place down.

And it's pretty strongly implied Sudou was only a pryromaniac because he was an awkward loner kid and there was a rumor about him being a pryomaniac which Nyarly made come true.

ah yeah, IS sudou was definitely pretty messed up too cause of rumors (and his crummy home life, iirc??)

so i guess the answer is: always blame nyarly :v:

Baofu is not dumb but more of a jaded alcoholic avoiding confronting his problems.

Katsuya is actually legit clever and has good observation skills despite his attempts to try (and fail) at being some Cyclops-esque hard rear end, both of which being literally the only reason the party even survived some Grade-A nonsense in one of the dungeons. And in another, willingly walking into a trap but having the foresight to trust his companions kinda blew the lid on the Illuminati in that universe, so go him.

Ulala... yeah but she's still awesome.

Playing Soul Hackers now, it's pretty neat. You can definitely tell it's a much older game but it's not too obtuse. Plus, saxophone comp.

Several different NPCs explain different elements to you if you specifically ask them but other than that, not really at all. Luckily the GO button exists, but it's really quite annoying to have demons with good skills who refuse to use them. On the other hand, a demon gave me some money because he was worried I was spending too much on haircuts, so it's a good game.

I guess it's going to really be 'how much more significant are Switch loadtimes gonna be', because that was the difference between me finishing WoFF and just putting it down halfway through because load times were really noticeable on the Vita.

Depends on the genre (less often in JRPGs), but you usually don't really notice its presence or absence that much. It's only noticeable when they go through hoops to avoid it like with Ryuji.
