I think the problem is more that Maurice insisted on using his third line as a shutdown line, and playing his fourth line 6 minutes a game. So players like roslovic, petan etc who aren't good enough yet to displace guys in the top 6 and aren't defensive enough for the 3rd line end up up playing 6 minutes with Chris thorburn, Matt hendricks or gabriel bourque. Not exactly a great situation for developing offensive talent
