Related, I wonder if there will be any defections from NBC to ESPN. I could see Pierre telling NBC to take his demotion and shove it.

Watch ESPN hire Roenick, Cherry, Milbury, or any of the other shitheads that have gotten fired in recent years.

Interesting stat for the Avalanche they showed in tonight's game. They have one three game win streak this season. Those three games are the only three games they've had a healthy blueline.

I mean, technically, we're always gonna be one day closer to a new Canucks GM by virtue of Benning being a mortal.

ESPN's been cutting costs left and right, and have been dropping a ton of on-air talent lately. They're going to have bare minimum on their hockey coverage and likely will just lean on who they already have in Cohn, Levy, Buccigross, Melrose, and maybe get Wysh and Kaplan to do studio work.

Somehow I think Draisaitl is going to be at the top of this list at the end of the season.

That Crosby at the top destroying the islanders was only a 6-game matchup that season

When he didn't get canned after the three straight blowouts by the Leafs I gave up on it ever happening. You should do the same, it makes the inevitable disappointment easier.

I think this list will be full of the Ottawa Senators at the end of the season. McDavid has 13 points against them. Matthews and Scheifele both have 10. And they all still have 3-5 games left against the Sens.

Also Toffoli has 13 against the Canucks.

Playoffs are no big deal,
don't have a crap attack.
Can somebody explain Perron to me? He has this weird mid-career dip, and since going to Vegas a few seasons ago, has become a good point-getter again. Now he's close to the top-10 in the league (although, it's a little bit of a mirage since his PPG is tied for 20th). Like, he was unprotected in the expansion draft!

He had a major concussion that probably stalled his development a bit, he was also an all-offence guy that played for some regressive/d-first coaches and it's not surprising as he got passed around the league that he struggled with consistency. Seems like a case of health plus maturity adding up to a more consistent role and production over time.

The mid-career dip was mostly when he was stuck with the Oilers and then the Mike Johnston Penguins, he's always been a sneaky good player in the Chris Kunitz mold, i.e., can't hit a barn door from 20 feet with a wrist or slap shot but really good at everything else and fearless. He's one of those guys that just has a sixth-sense kind of knack for materializing where the puck is headed. He's fun to watch, like keep your eyes on him through the whole play.

I thought he was trash when he was with the Penguins but in retrospect that was 100.0% Johnston's asinine system.

That 1st period was easily the most annoying period I watched this season solely due to that horn, which went from "sounding at every stoppage of play" to "sounding every minute or so during play". I learned to hate that horn a lot. Thank god they fixed it during the 1st intermission.

Thanks for this!

I also realized that I was confusing Perron with Backes, thanks to their first name, when I made my original post, so I had the incorrect memory of everyone making thinking he was washed in Boston. Still, I am surprised by David "PPG" Perron.
