the gbs covid thread made me feel like a crazy person after a few months. Lots of posts screaming at people for doing things like spending time with people not in their household outdoors or wearing the wrong type of mask. Lots of "I have literally not stepped foot outside my house in since March 10th 2020, and if you get take out and pick it up in person, you are a terrible selfish person."

Piss. Well that's more fair then. Grocery stores always have some kind of insane deal on where there's 6 of this product for half off but only if you get 2 of this product that requires a baker's dozen reward cards and then you're stuck for 5 minutes carefully weighing cereal boxes like Indiana Jones about to swap a bag of sand for some Lucky Charms.

I’ve ordered groceries twice and both times the stuff I’ve gotten was pretty crap. My dad also tried it and he had the same issue and if they didn’t have something you were fuckin SOL and couldn’t get alternate product. He’d get home and find they didn’t have the brand milk or whatever he added so he’d end up having to go back to the store anyway.

I stopped following it for a while, but for at least the last couple months it's been pretty good and helpful. There is still a strain of doomposting going on but it is infrequent and less dominant now. For a while there it did get over the top, like Silkwood showers after going to the store and hermetically sealing groceries for a week before bringing them in through the airlock.

Is there a gold watch equivalent for a retiring mod? Someone who manages to stick around long enough and decides to peacefully step down without controversy or panic? We all missed Dr. Eldarion's 20th, but I also don't know when they got the star. According to the single rapsheet entry they've been a mod since 2004 at least.
