Paradoxish posted:It's amazing. Earlier this year I helped a friend fix some stuff on his car (a pretty old Audi with a 5-speed) so he could sell it. Not only did he end up selling it in two weeks, but he sold it for more than he was asking for and literally had people emailing him with offers above his list price. Just loving crazy. the selvedge denim and goodyear welt of the 2020s is going to be some kind of classic corollacore, where a startup car company founded in detroit make handcrafted, artisanal stick shifts with a boxy frame that supposedly lasts for 200k miles and you can repair it yourself tons of softhanded millennials with expensive tattoos getting really into changing their own oil and assembling newsletter lookbooks of 80s jalopies

Delta-Wye posted:how about an automatic that gives you an up/down shift lever where you can request it to shift? how does that make you feel?? The point isn't changing gears yourself, modern auto and dual clutch transmissions let you do that no problem. The point is having a clutch pedal because that gives you a level of control over the car's dynamics and ability to express your skill (aka 'fun') that's impossible to achieve without one. The details of the gearbox itself are largely irrelevant.
