I'm pretty sure it was just a simple joke of changing the name from the guy who created it originally, Homer, to the name of the person stealing it, Moe. That happened in a season 3 episode, but in a season 8 episode, there is a line where Homer says he 'likes his homosexuals fa-laming'. So in conclusion, the Simpsons are a land of contrasts.
