Has anyone purchased plushies of any type from AliExpress? I'm scared of what they might be stuffed with.

I bought a giant stuffed Kirby for like $20 a couple years back and while I can't say I've opened it up to personally understand if it's full of asbestos, it is just as wonderful and squishy as you might expect from an American seller (who probably gets their plushies from China anyway).

Sure, a giant structural scissor lift. I'm sure my local building codes would be fine with this. If only I didn't live in an apartment.
Good price on shipping tho.

They're a thing rich techbros own, wouldn't trust one from Ali though.

I have seen so many things like that and if I had Bezos money I would be buying all of them. My house's many bathrooms would be full of every weird shower and bathtub with a TV in it.

Has anyone bought any wireless doorbells off Ali that they could recommend? The bell pushbutton portion would have to be pretty waterproof, and not all of them seem to be. No camera necessary (or desired). (We're thinking of getting one for the new puppy we're adopting in a couple weeks. We had luck with a bell on the inside of the door, but we're not sure if we would hear one on the outside.)

There are ones that don't need a battery in the button, allowing it to have an actual submersible ip rating. I had another doorbell from Amazon before that and rain killed it within a year.

I got a buckleless belt after seeing one online. It's essentially a way to add a stretch waist to pants that don't already have one; and, there's no need to constantly adjust it, like my previous belt.

These were great when my slim son was overall too small for the slim-cut size range of bottoms. I think they might look goofy if you tuck your shirt in as with a traditional belt, but otherwise, yeah: great product.

Buying belts on AliExpress is a very cool and good move. I got sick of quality issues locally no matter how much I spent on belts. I accept this is completely due having zero knowledge on what to look for in a belt. How do I know which will fall apart within the year and which won't? Impossible!

I purchased a $3 belt on AliExpress. It's still going strong years later.

Ditto. I've bought belts locally for (non trivial money) and the AE ones out-perform every time.

I have! It's one of those kinetically powered ones and it came with about 50 completely unusable and unnecessary midi ringtones but it works great (once I found the ding dong melody). I'm on my phone and about to go to sleep but I figured posting would at least allow you to click the ? and find my probably recent post about it.

Oh yeah, I did have another Aliexpress success-story recently! The previous owner of our house had replaced the wired doorbell with an extremely lovely battery-powered wireless one that would just randomly lose connection so you never knew wether the doorbell worked. I didn't feel like rewiring a traditional buzzer so enter aliexpress:
(extremely not to scale)

The receiver has a much better range and plugs right into the wall while the doorbell itself is kinetically powered by people ringing it, which is very cool and practical. Sure it has about 55 more melodies than I need in a doorbell, but one of them is happy birthday which is fun?

My blue morpho sandals came! I think they're pretty cute:

The wings are maybe not as vertical as I'd expected, but a little light fluffing and they're fine. The sandals fit well and are comfortable, too (so far). Imma wear them to my first post-vax party this weekend. Thanks again for sharing them with the thread!

My only belt (apart from the ones that came with the pants) broke after about 13 or 14 years of use. Took me a while to find a good replacement without leather. During the search I found a ton of cool canvas belta on Ali that would go really nicely with relaxed clothing and immer wear, and I'm deffo getting a few once payday comes.

I just came from the crab thread, so I might be confused

no way! Shoes? I think ali actually suggested those to me a few months ago and I give kudos to whoever came up with them, Fromm creativity stand point, since they are unrecognizable as shoes. Not that anyone should wear them. Just that looking at someone’s feet and deciding to go with that shape seems awfully creative

It's pretty easy, if it's a leather belt look at it from the side to see if it's really real leather all the way through and not some weird laminated garbage.

Try to get full grain leather for durability. Top grain is second best. Genuine leather is garbage.
