I never really liked that combo. Now mountain dew and gin? That's good. Kind of.

Lol, back when I used to wait tables I'd have people ask for no mayo on a sandwich and then ask for ranch and dump that on instead.

Edit: unshockingly they were largely from the ranch-drenched hellscape of the American midwest

I mean I can respect people not liking fluff but it fills the sweet slot jelly does

I grew up with fluffernutters as an option and I like them but like one every several years, not all the time. That's still infinity times more than I want mayo on a peeber

Had half an Italian sandwich from Jersey Mike’s left over in my fridge, my stoned rear end decided to pour a bunch of Kens light Caesar dressing on it. Pro loving move, it’s just oil and vinegar but it brought the whole sandwich up a notch.

pretty good tbh

/e: i recently got a kitchen scale so i do have precise measurements if anyone's interested:

232.4g dry pasta

2.5g toasted sesame seeds
+
13.9g minced anaheim chili
38.4g mayo
25g concord grape jelly
51.5g peanut butter
6.5g yellow mustard
12.1g basalmic vinegar
5.3g soy sauce
1.5g MSG
1.8g garlic powder
unknown amount of ground black pepper, the scale went "i dunno" for some reason at that point

then after using the pan to sauce the pasta,

59g chicken stock
22.7g frank's red hot

We talked about lab-grown meat a bit previously, and it's looking like we're gearing up to see a decent spread in the next few years.

Still a bit pricy (9 euros for a burger, 4 for a chicken breast), but that part of the problem looks to just be economy of scale.

But mixing those things (and a lot of other, much more powerful things) all together as ingredients in a sauce is really not the same as just eating a big blop of them in a sandwich

Yeah, I improved some lovely store-brand alfredo by putting a bit of peanut butter onto my noodles after thinking hard about what it needed. Definitely wouldn't put the alfredo sauce on a sandwich.

I think I can quantify why, though. Two slices of bread? That's a handle, the things that go between them is the actual food. Noodles? That's the food, anything that goes with it is sauce, until you get into the meatball zone, where things get fuzzier. A single slice of baguette? That could feasibly be topped with peanut butter and alfredo, though for preference it would be a dip.

Am I getting gluten or what?

There's an additive enzyme that breaks down gluten in beer (and other malt beverages). It's very effective and has been shown to reduce gluten levels below the threshold for labeling products as "gluten-free", but iirc in the US you're not allowed to say that it's "gluten-free". I know people with celiac who are able to drink these without any problems, but not everyone wants to take chances.
