So, I am double vaccinated (mixed doses Az/Pf) and also tested positive for Covid back in early May about a week after my 1st dose. At that time, very mild symptoms, sore throat, filling a little congested, that was it. Literally lasted 2-3 days max. Here is the weird thing. Woke up this AM with a bit of a sore throat. Didn't think much of it as I trained last night and talked/visited a lot afterwards. But, as the day has gone on I noticed that I have the shits (nothing better than a shart) and I can't trace it to anything I ate. Other than a very small amount of cream which turned this AM (literally less than a teaspoon.. it smelled off). Also more stuffed up as the day progressed and the sore throat hasn't gone away. My muscles are sore, but my muscles are ALWAYS sore because I train like a crazy person most nights and I'm in my late 40s. I know the odds are super low, but I think I am going to get tested tomorrow. Since I'm vaxxed and I tested positive a few months ago, I have to think the odds must be super small... but... we're in the middle of the Delta fueled 4th wave here so who knows. Part of my job is meeting people at their workplace and I train martial arts almost daily with about 30 people 14+ years old so I can't take the risk. Anyone here have a breakthrough (re)infection during this wave?

My wife has a mild breakthrough. Headache, sore throat, diarrhea. My three year old brought home delta from daycare. Get tested. There have been three other breakthroughs that I know of and have observed at work, all very mild. Scary though because the delta cases hit the unvaccinated hard. Like people in their 30s struggling to breathe and outright dying. The vaccine seems to keep the pneumonia away at least.

Burgers from worst to best: McDonald's. Seriously get that poo poo away from me. BK. Will eat under duress, like it's the only thing at the rest stop that's open and I'm loving starving Wendy's 5 guys/dicks (I prefer 5 guys, but they're both good and dicks is impressively good to their employees) Non chain restaurants Also gently caress your lighter fluid and gently caress your chimney starters too. OxymotherfuckingACETYLENE. Those coals were ready in like 17 seconds and I only melted a few of the wires in the coal grating.

So I think my buddy wants to kill me. I dropped off a plow for his tractor yesterday and he gave me these as compensation. Original formula Four Loko with all the caffeine, taurine, and guaraná. I never tried them when they were on the shelf originally but it’s a good thing I’m not given to alcoholic excess or these might gently caress me up badly. For some reason he still has cases of this poo poo in his basement.

Over here on poo poo island we are now at 70-something percent of adults vaccinated and are virtually restriction free other than for any events you have to show your covid pass (proof of double jab), or do a negative test or show proof of a positive test in the last 6 months - and our covid hospitalisation rates seem to be staying fairly level now... I went to bloodstock festival 2 weeks ago which was 5 days camping outside with 20k other people. 1 of the 8 other people i camped with came home with the plague (but somehow her partner didn't!), and through my entire group of 50 or so friends/acquaintances who I spent time with while there (mostly aged between 25 and 50) it has probably run at about 15%-20% who came home with the plague and it has ranged from zero symptoms to just flu level with loss of taste/smell. Brother in law FINALLY got vaccinated because he was given the ultimatum of "get it or get fired" Didn't go down without a fight though. He couldn't just go get the vaccine. He had to go to the loving hospital and pretend he was dying after he got it. On a lighter note, living halfway out in the sticks has its advantages. A local winery that a friend of mine works for hosts an event called Planets & Pinot where they sell wine and have pro and amateur astronomers set up their telescopes for some tipsy stargazing. Masks were strictly enforced except when you were in your group spot. But what a beautiful evening. Summer is ending but it's very nice. Last shift with the grocery store: DONE. Okay maybe I just left two hours early, and only said goodbye to one person. Put a post-it note on my access card with my name and employee #, slid it under HR's door (this is what my boss told me to do with it), and had a coworker badge me out. But I've been on light duty, did all of my tasks, dicked around on the intranet a couple of hours trying to find policies on the 401k and employee stock stuff (turns out I lose my employee stock, but I kinda expected that since I hadn't been there long enough for it to fully vest), played games on my phone awhile. Now if you get into the surrounding counties, all bets are off, but Dallas itself has a huge gay population; that normally doesn't fly there.
