Unless you've seen sincere love turn to hate, all that you've built turned against you, and come close to death by your hand you're in no position to judge. Those branded abusers, were certainly abused themselves, carrying trauma with them, struggling against exposing it to others. But that poo poo goes so deep. One can eventually just accept being a monster, and look exclusively to other monsters for company. Or like Lowtax, a person can come to the conclusion there is no way to make things better, no matter what they do. Part of me (the part that's still suck in 2009 with the rest of you) knows that part of why Lowtax did what he did is to keep us thinking about him. Wasn't there a term for that kind of person? Also thanks to this thread I finally found my ICQ number.

I'm going to actually post a real thing that no one gives a gently caress about, but this event made me look up my own stats. The funny thing is that a mod mistake resulted in the first ~7 months of my time in the forums getting wiped and that was probably the time that I was most active, but I somehow have managed 1.77 posts a day for almost 20 years. Despite all that, I never made any impact on the forums, never made any personal friends from the forums (though I have met people IRL), and most of my real friends that also jumped on the forums also left long ago. I never met Lowtax, never had any form of interaction with Lowtax, and frankly I bought so many forums accounts for myself and friends, merch, and contributed to ad driven Photoshop Phridays that I never felt like I owed him anything. So credit to him for creating a platform that brought me many hours of laughs and I'm glad that will continue. It sucks that everything I knew him for ended this way and I wish the best for his friends and family.
