just got myself an aeropress. this thing is awesome.

how fine do you grind your beans when using this? so far I've tried almost-espresso level and closer-to-mocca-master-level, both quite different but still great tasting. seems like you can't go too wrong with this thing

depends on recipe, but for the most common methods (just using it, and the inverted method - which i can personally recommend) you want it medium-fine, kind of like table salt

in general though it’s pretty forgiving so you can gently caress around and 1) make it finer if you don’t feel flavour or 2) make it coasters if it’s hard to push or too punchy

work sent over some Tribo coffee which is apparently a bunch of individual pouches of pourover coffee. The wrapper is probably garbage, but the compostable filter + cardboard single-use pour-over mechanism is sort of nifty:



The coffee is pretty decent too.

first time someone gave me one of those i thought it was like a teabag, didnt know the top opened to use it as a pourover. i just steeped it with the closed off cloth bag in hot water for like 5 minutes and thought drat this is the weakest, worst coffee ive ever had

i’m pro nespresso generally for people who want reasonable quality with no real effort. though i will say my so’s aunt loving loves her breville brind and grew
