Yeah, I was expecting that moment to get undermined somehow, and it didn’t happen. Just a genuine moment of cathartic grief and anger. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised after Mac’s interpretive dance. Maybe next season will ask me to feel real ways about Dee’s continual failed attempts to be valued or respected. The new comedy is tragedy.

They're only able to do stuff like Charlie in the rain and Mac also in the rain because we've seen these characters develop over a decade and a half. Would be pretty funny to have each season end with some kind of growth or catharsis for each character; Dee sees some success in acting, Dennis at least slightly fixes his brain troubles. I don't know what'd you'd do with Frank...

Frank doesn't need to be saved, no one in the cast does. Mac is still a poo poo person after his dance performance for example But Danny Devito is like a legit great actor and I'd love to see him get some serious work as well, even if but for a few moments

One thing I don't see being discussed us that Mac is basically gayface. I demand that Rob release a sex tape where he and another dude or dudes are just going to town on each other. We have to threaten him with being cancelled. Now, obviously, he could just come out as straight. If he's straight, he's straight and that's completely fine. Aside from the gayface thing. But then he loses his job, his wife loses her job, his friends lose their jobs. So it would really be better for everybody if he just released the tapes.

The one issue I take with their comic sensibility is that they could do this kind of title cut more often but they don't. Sometimes they just straight-up say the title, other times it's "What could go wrong?" "FRANK SETS SWEET DEE ON FIRE"
