I'll contribute by saying Amy is awesome. It's refreshing to have a champion dominating like this who is also a nice person and not a robot. Really I just want to meet her cat.

I bet Ken would activate a trapdoor that would whisk someone right off the stage before they ended up beating his record.

Some ads ran this weekend that one of today's contestants is from the area. I can only remember one other person hailing from this way and that was 20+ years ago. Is that something Jeopardy does these days because it's pretty cool.

Yeah, I know in 2018 we taped the lame-rear end segments where they make a question out of your life. Like, "This Red Sox fan is going to be on Jeopardy!" and then they have you buzz in and go "Who is [your name]?" and they send it to your local affiliate but ho boy everyone I know was desperately hoping they would never see the light of day. They are almost all uniformly super cringe

It has to be weird to occupy the superposition of current Jeopardy champion who’s breaking records as the episodes air when you yourself recorded the episodes months ago and know how everything ended. Unless she’s still playing and winning in episodes being taped right now, I guess.

Good to know that at least the guest hosts have more sen... Oh Sweet Jesus https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33088151/the-unfiltered-year-aaron-rodgers "When the president of the United States says, 'This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated,' it's because him and his constituents, which, I don't know how there are any if you watch any of his attempts at public speaking, but I guess he got 81 million votes," Rodgers said Thursday. "But when you say stuff like that, and then you have the CDC, which, how do you even trust them, but then they come out and talk about 75% of the COVID deaths have at least four comorbidities. And you still have this fake White House set saying that this is the pandemic of the unvaccinated, that's not helping the conversation." I'll take How to ruin your post-football career (minus crazy people media) for $400.

If Arthur is saying that we shouldn’t act like vaccines will make covid go away all by themselves because there are vulnerable people who will die if they get it, I agree with that part, but I don’t know if that’s what he’s saying.

He's saying that, but then arriving at the conclusion that we would be all better off without them It's certainly unique as far as antivax bullshit goes, typically those cranks are saying COVID isn't that bad so neither vaccines nor lockdowns are necessary, but his analysis seems to be COVID is extremely bad, so we should be on full lockdown but without a vaccine

ninjahedgehog posted:He's saying that, but then arriving at the conclusion that we would be all better off without them It's not an uncommon opinion. My mother and my brother and sisters all espouse similar opinions ("the shot doesn't work 100 percent, so we shouldn't get them"), and a friend of mine that I've known for 20 years, who literally works for Humana insurance, says the same bullshit.

Island Nation posted:Good to know that at least the guest hosts have more sen... Oh Sweet Jesus It's funny if you follow right wing psycho circles you know exactly where he gets his bullshit. They were saying that 75 percent of the vaccinated who died had four comorbidities but it got passed around in reactionary circles as 75 percent of all COVID deaths. It's like the bullshit they were saying early on during the pandemic where only 6 percent of COVID deaths really count because everyone has had comorbidities.
