It was literally "anyone can contribute their work to this" the only quality control was making sure downloading something in the pack wouldn't give people a computer virus. That was sorta the point. The fact that they were able to do that with so much content is, in and of itself, a huge accomplishment.

Ah drat I missed this new bundle. The original bundle introduced me to Metamorphabet, which was an amazing educational game for my daughter who learned all her letters before turning 2.

if it's just in good fun then by all means and sorry if this subject has me a bit overly sensitive, seeing this bundle flourish has been a recent bright spot and scoring some sick dunks on those that contributed materials just feels like a needlessly negative place to go is all. but I don't think that's your intent and I don't want to be a stick in the mud for full disclosure I have a free game of my own in the bundle (which I'll leave unnamed), it's a small game that I'm proud of that only ever had tens of views and doesn't stand up to the bigger, sexier contributions but submitting it was my way of trying to make a tiny difference in a situation where it's hard not to feel incredibly powerless and if my game bumps the number of projects from 1199 to 1200 and sells a few more bundles then I couldn't be prouder, and I know I'm not the only person who felt that way

Yeah I promise that's not my intention at all, I just grew up on the finest diet of shovelware downloaded from tucows and love playing amusingly bad games. Like I've beat Baba and I played hundreds of hours of mini-metro when I had a terrible office job. I know the good games exist but I wanna hear about the borderline unplayable ones. In any case, congrats on putting your game in the bundle! It's for a really good cause and you should be proud!

Not my intention to poo poo on the well-intentioned devs who contributed, and congrats! Some clearly didn't put that much thought or care into it, though, contributing things that were already free, or demos, or DLC without the base game, etc. Panning for gold (or notable trash) through all these odds-and-sods was as much why I bought it as the handful of bigger games, so in that respect, even the castoffs helped sell the thing imho. Reminds me of... if you've ever volunteered on a canned food drive. Lots of people give what's obviously their best stuff. Other people use it as a chance to get rid of the canned asparagus that's about to expire.

They are reviewing every submission but limited the bundle to paid games only so there are less chances they have to delay it. I'm somewhat worried that they want to launch another bundle in April in support of trans kids in texas which I feel is going to get shafted in terms of hype and support (way too close together).

This is all TTRPGs, no videogames, and is donating to different orgs, so almost certainly a different bundle than the other one. A very cursory glance at the orgs it's donating to seems like they're decent orgs, but I don't know enough to recommend them.
