Don't you just hate when you wind up in a store with people who are in a socioeconomic class that is pretty obviously about two levels lower than your own?
that should be a general forums feature so the admins can apply that to any user

that would be very cool. better still if you can correlate it with probes so they can be like, this person keeps getting probed in this time range so they aren't allowed to post then anymore.

I have considered starting a little side business in my apartment complex where I will go to your apartment and build your flat pack for you. There's 4 decent sized towers here and im sure there's a near infinite stream of flat pack stuff coming in the door

i know, the point would be your neighbor did it instead of some dude from an app. my complex already has a little internal craigslist. i wouldn't go to other apartment complexes.

the main trick to assembling ikea furniture is to read the entire manual before you start
the second trick that saves a ton of time is to use a cordless drill on high speed with the clutch set to the weakest setting so that you can install screws effortlessly and without damaging the particle board

i find that it's a very zen experience if you do it alone, but a total nightmare if you have anyone trying to help

go through the parts list and count out everything. not to check for missing parts because there won't be any, but to make sure you know what's what. that way you'll know the difference between a short dowel and a long dowel and how many of each screw type there are, so you won't use the wrong ones early on and then get stuck later.

also just don't be a ham-fisted oaf. two screws into a piece chipboard probably don't need to be tightened like they're holding the two halves of the building together.

Cams, hell yeah. Those wee fitments are ace, they feel great to turn.
The other end of the scale are the cams in, say, the camshaft of a ship's engine. I can only dream what they feel like.
Cam.
Shaft.

Plenty of clutchless screwdrivers have enough torque to gently caress up ikea particle board. You need a clutch and it needs to be set quite low.
