Couldn’t Pog just let a Jumbo rider go and then tow them back when it gets steeper? I don’t think neither Roglic nor Vingegaard would be able to stay away from him if they manage to break away. All the accelerations can’t be doing him any good and the more sensible approach with be power meter riding a la Froome.
