My last job had dedicated food service for the cafeteria and it was incredible and pretty cheap. My current job uses a hospital nutritional services department and it's cheap but it's also hospital food.

my old office had a cafeteria and it started out pretty good but got worse over time. i had some duck blood that literally tasted like soil once, and a week or two later over 40 people in our office got taken out with food poisoning all at once. lol.

a previous job had an on-staff chef who would make a lunch 4 days a week, and it was actually pretty delicious. wasn't free, but it was only $3 per meal, in a neighborhood where the next best option was gas station quality sushi for like $12. on occasion the guy would make fuckin prime rib and the cost would be $5 and people would complain about all the money they were being compelled to spend lol

mrs logins used to work in admin for a casino and they could order food normally served in the pub "at cost" as a form of staff caf. it was set up to just get deducted from your pay. apparently it was a great deal for like a bacon eggs hash brown toast type breakfast in particular, tough to make something comparable on your own for same or cheaper also most of the admin staff were apparently fat af from relying on this lol

we hired a lotta eu peeps at the gdpr compliance company i was at (cuz gdpr, natch) and it was always a thing where they came to the usa and gained 30 lbs from catered food every day and different stuff in the water i guess

my work has a cafe, but back in 2020 it was basically shutdown (understandably), and then came back with just p basic sandwiches and stuff for a couple years. then a few months ago they finally brought back the salad bar and hot bar and grill and sandwich station, and it's been surprisingly nice to have back  it's not the best food in the world and it's kinda expensive tbh (my lunch is usually about $10), but i'm eating a helluva lot more vegetables than i did before, and there's always a few dece vegetarian (and generally inherently vegan) options so i'm eating less meat. i've lost like 20lb since being back in the office most of the week, so it makes me feel a bit less resistant to being in the office again

I've got 30 different VPN configs for work. Only use 4 or 5 regularly though. Pretty reliable, every time a teammate has "vpn trouble" it winds up being them loving with the config thinking it's some sort of firewall preventing their docker servers not working or a dog slow connection from their ISP
