it buzzed me out to learn that some pine cones only open after they get burned, I knew some kinda of forest tolerates fires but didn’t realise that some forests have effectively a symbiotic relationship with fire

when the smoke from one of those wildfires blew all the way over here it was actually pretty awful. it was probably pretty dissipated by then too
