Russia's experiencing the same thing now. However at a much lower morale point. The soldiers morale in tatters means that eventually they will not give a poo poo about life or death and end up causing a major detriment to any future offensives. If you've ever experienced real hunger while trying to do other tasks it's very difficult. Especially ones that require a lot of physical activity. Imagine being bombed continuously while also starving and being sick as gently caress.
