I never had a libertarian phase (thank god) but I languished as a liberal for way too long. To the person asking, "Why you guys get so worked up about D&D," that's part of it, is that most of those people I assume are older than their early thirties like myself, and I was the definition of "socialism seems extremist to me" liberalism for so long and I just couldn't hold on to those views in the face of reality anymore, and watching people older than myself, who've experienced more, just continue believing in the lie... that boggles my mind. Even I the idiot have figured this out! What's your excuse? Unless everyone in USPol is actually in their early twenties, which significantly makes me rethink my whole approach to those people, but much more likely they're all in their late thirties to forties and are just like this.
