Resident Evil Relevations is still one of the better 3DS retail games on the market, and if you wanted an old school survivor horror, $10 is practically a steal. I totally recommend it.

(Next week's spoooooooooky Wii U VC game is Super Castlevania 4, as far as I can tell.)

The good news about Nintendo churning out all these "black box" NES games is that they're gonna run out eventually. Which means things can only look up! (or I guess we can expect nothing to be released afterward, whatever)

There's been a handful of GBC releases and maybe 2 or 3 GB releases in my region for the whole year, which even if they feel like avoiding the mainline Pokemon games and stuff like that for some reason, is stupid, because there's still a shitload of decent, not so major stuff they could be putting up. It's bizarre that we still don't have stuff like the GBC Pokemon Puzzle Challenge or practically anything of note third party wise on either of those areas of the store.

Just for reference, here's a list of all the GB/C games Nintendo published outside of Japan, minus all the games that are already on the VC:quote:F-1 Race Now, here's the list again minus all the stuff they don't own, either because it's licensed or because it wasn't their game to begin with: quote:F-1 Race It's easy to speculate on why a lot of those games haven't been released yet, and the number of games that don't seem to have any real impediments for release seems quite small (Mario Tennis/Golf, Pokemon Pinball/TCG/Panepon, junk like Wave Race), but even so, they really oughta hurry up.

Maybe it's because of their lineage as a toy company, I dunno.

You couldn't get anything from the GB/C games to the GBA games. But theoretically you'll be able to get a GBA pokemon to the 3DS when Pokemon Bank starts up.

Is the Pokemon Bank and internet thing? Because if so, I wouldn't hold your breath. Also, how would Pokemon X/Y be for someone almost completely new at the series. Because when I read about them, it sounds like they get exponentially more complicated. I played a little bit of the early ones on emulators and liked the gameplay, but it is the kinda thing suited for mobile gaming, so I never got deep into them, sitting at my computer.

Not directly. You have to bounce the GBA mon to 4th gen then to Black/White, THEN to the Bank and THEN to X/Y. And yes, X/Y has kind of a lot of optional mechanics even for a Pokemon game, but if you want to just catch things and make them throw folding chairs at other things you can get by just fine on that.

How is Resident Evil: Revelations without the Circle Pad Pro? I'm having trouble deciding on whether to get the 3DS or Wii U version. On the one hand, it's hard to pass up on a $10 game, but I'd either have to delete some games in order to make room or buy a new card (which I want to do eventually anyway), and I don't want to bother getting a CPP. On the other hand, I could take advantage of the digital promotion points for the Wii U version and have better (I assume) controls. But my Wii U had that blinking red light issue the other day and now I'm scared to use it. I'm so paralyzed by indecision that I'm probably just going to end up missing out on this deal altogether.

I've been trained by every other game in existence that aiming is for the right thumb so I found it kind of janky and hard to play, but my experience isn't universal, apparently. Then again people in this thread will tell you Kid Icarus is perfectly playable, so...

If I remember correctly without the CCP you have to enter first person mode in order to adjust camera, which means you are aiming and can't move. It's not a deal breaker but gets really annoying in boss fights where you have to stop and turn around in order to face the enemy. On that note, is RE:Mercs worth the money? Are there a lot of people playing it online?

ETB posted:I bet people would gobble up the old Pokemon games if it meant that they could trade up to the current iteration somehow. THINK OF THE PROFITS Well, the Gameboy Pokemon games have a lot of now-permanent fixtures missing from the games. RBG even calculates character stats differently. G/S don't have natures, which are fairly important. Then there's a bunch of hidden stuff. But yeah, people who like Pokemon will tend to get pretty much any Pokemon main game so selling the originals with the disclaimer that they're stand alone and cannot be traded up to the new ones would make them a decent amount of money.

I'll probably download and replay the demos when I get home later today but all things considered I'm leaning towards the Wii U version right now. Assuming the thing doesn't die on me soon.

I bought Ace Attorney and that ate up most of my memory stick's blocks. If I wanted to take advantage of Mercenaries and RE Revelations deal I need to ask... A. If I transfer my data to my computer and then a new stick, would any saved progress be lost on my games? Losing my progress on my games would be awful B. How much memory would you recommend for the system?
