Wait until The Quietus releases their list.

I almost always find something on their AOTY list that bypassed me totally, often because of it being from the UK or some other place where only a small percentage of the country's output gets through to me, so I'm looking forward to it.

He is quoted as saying this about his music.. I hope he changes his mind about "only five albums".

"Yes. I’m only making five albums. And they all do serve a cohesive narrative of a life journey of a human soul from a traditional Western perspective. So High Top Mountain was a seminal album or a past life, you can’t go home. Metamodern (Sounds in Country Music) was ethereal, literally like the soul’s journey through space. A Sailor’s Guide (To Earth) represents birth, and life lessons learning them. The next one is going to be about life and sin. We’re literally going to go to hell. And the fifth one will be returning to the light. Absolution."

Not only are they good, but through them I found out that there exists a band called Psychedlic Porn Crumpets

Everyone should check out Tinted Windows, it's a supergroup with Adam Schlesinger, James Iha, Bun E. Carlos and Taylor Hansen and it's really really great, just perfect timeless power pop.

I also really like The Click Five but that's definitely straddling the line between power pop and boy band.

That has to be amongst the weirdest supergroup lineups ever, if not the weirdest

Hey here's a stupid question. A friend is reading a book about Kid A and we started talking about Pitchfork's funniest reviews. I remember their review of Agaetis Byrjun being really, really funny - probably funnier than their Kid A review - with language like: "wrists will be slit and children will be conceived to this album." But they've since replaced their review with an updated one, and now I can't find the old review anywhere!! Can anyone help me find it?

My favorite is the Jet review that was just a gif of a chimp passing in its' own mouth

I liked them back in the day. Saw them in concert in Osaka. After the show a fan tried to give the lead singer a PSP which was still new at the time. He politely declined the gift.

I was horrified to find out DFA were pals with Gavin Macinnes (same for Buzz Osborne, although that was less surprising)

I know some people say you gotta separate the art, but I draw the line at associating with loving nazis
