anyway I don’t think going on Chapo is a particularly controversial move except for, like, k-hive people or the 40 people who think they’re secretly fash or whatever.

turns out I was wrong about this, I posted "Hayes should go on chapo" in a HH facebook group and received many angry replies, my favorite being "Hayes is only friendly with them on twitter because he recognizes that it's a waste of time to engage with those shitbags." i retract my statement.

I can't find the episode or the clip, but there is an incredible RSS where they play a clip of a guy on the real world explaining how he "experimented with having sex with men" because he didn't make the football team in high school (?) and sean says he can relate because when he couldn't join the yearbook committee he spent a year getting his rear end railed

My stitcher premium auto-renewed but it's not showing my account anywhere and their support can't find it either.

Since I already paid I'd rather keep it going for one more year and not have to replace all my feeds with various Patreons, but they apparently have no record of me ever having an account so I guess I'm just going to do a chargeback?

I also signed up for a free trial thinking this would be a glitch, and it turns out you can't currently cancel your subscription on the Stitcher website.

Absolutely terrible product

I manually add podcasts to my ipod classic

this is how i listened to the first 100 or so comedy death rays and WTFs. played through my car stereo with a cassette adapter, natch.

still remember specific stretches of my 1 hour commute that year where I had to pull over from laughing too hard at iBrain and Huell Howser discovering racism

It was very exciting to basically find out that podcasts exist and one of them has Mr. Show guys and a bunch of incredible LA comics/improvisers I'd never heard of. Felt like something made specifically for me

I had a similar experience with HM, I started listening to season 1 around the time it came out and I was just getting into HH at the time. Felt too similar so I dropped it for a while, but eventually went back and re-listened and loved it. I think it was Bang as Sebastian the Crab saying "I'm scared of the slenderman" that really won me over, just one of those things that will pop into my head randomly and still make me laugh.
That and "You ain't Judd"

i am listening to the "scott hasn't seen" episode with sean and hayes that got put up on the flagrant ones feed, and man. it's been a while since i've heard scott on a podcast and he is exhausting

I had to skip the part before Sean and Hayes came on but that was mostly due to the weird voice the other host was doing. I guess it’s a character he’s done on CBB but it was weird where he’s basically just being himself with a funny voice.

anyway I really liked the ep and it made me realize how much better professional writers are at finding things to laugh about in a bad movie than the chapo guys

I mean a company tries to keep someone longer in order to on-board a new employee for their own benefit, not that employee's benefit? If I quit and agree to stay for a few extra months that is me doing them a favor, not the other way around.

Yep, she probably gave a month's notice to be helpful, letting her go a week before her notice is up for venting on TikTok is incredibly petty.

The NPR bit is something I think about so often, it's really good. I wish that could end up on the flagrant archives.

did a re-listen last summer and I was howling at that part, as well as the clip from the real world where a guy said he tried having sex with men in high school because he was depressed that he didn't make the football team and Sean did an extended riff on how he had a similar experience when he didn't make the debate team. the latter may not be thought of as fondly these days but it got me good

I've been listening to early comedy death ray radio and laughing at how different these people were back then. At least they were smart enough to bleep Nick Kroll saying the n word!

They definitely did not bleep it when it originally aired lol

I like Scott, and I like the boys, but them together is interminable to me. Just irony on snark on irony. I need some modicum of earnestness to enjoy either. I had to turn it off after not too long.

Give some of the other recent episodes a shot if you're so inclined, CBB has been really fun lately and I say that as a previously lapsed fan.

I thought their segment was fine but they were better bouncing off the other guests
