Korra Book 3 is going to premiere in a week (obviously as a result of the leaks, but Nick will NEVER admit that), so congrats to Deadpool on a perfectly timed exit.

What audience is Korra even for, aside from twenty-something anime nerds hatewatching on Tumblr?
People who were teenagers during the original series and who watch for the very occasional moments where Korra does what Avatar did so well: transcend the medium of cartoon for children and become something undeniably greater.

Since it's gonna be moved to ADTRW immediately upon its creation, can the thread title please be Legend of Korra Book 3: The Official Start of the Summer 2014 Anime Season? I checked. It fits.

It was closed because it got really bad. But it was pretty clear I was joking when I said it wouldn't be open again. I even told MrAristocrates last night he could open it when he woke up.
I genuinely thought maybe you had forgotten that the dumb cartoon show was no longer airing on TV, and just wanted to clear up any confusion. Honestly, I would have fully supported the thread being closed for the rest of the week, because holy poo poo it got bad.

We need a sequel to CyberSeduction that deals with exactly this.

It'd be great it more shows died before they had the chance to become awful. Firefly is just the most extreme example.
Season 2 of Firefly was gonna have an episode when Inara got raped by Reavers so yeah I'm glad it only went one season.

From here:

quote:

But also, we learned part of Inara's huge secret: she's dying of some terminal disease, which is only vaguely hinted at in one episode. And executive producer Tim Minear explained about one episode that Joss Whedon pitched early on:

She had this magic syringe. She would take this drug. And if she were, for instance, raped, the rapist would die a horrible death. The story was that she gets kidnapped by Reavers and when Mal finally got to the ship to save her from the Reavers, he gets on the Reaver ship and all the Reavers are dead. Which would suggest a kind of really bad assault. At the end of the episode, he comes in after she's been horribly brutalized, and he comes in and he gets down on his knee, and he takes her hand. And he treats her like a lady. And that's the kind of stuff that we wanted to do. It was very dark. And this was actually the first story that Joss pitched to me when he asked me to come work on the show. He said, 'These are the kind of stories we're going to do.'

Yeah, Inara was basically gonna go through the same treatment of every other Whedon woman.
At least Kaylee's safe.
