In Metro Redux for the PS4, when you go in and out of darkness, the light bar on the Dualshock 4 will light up accordingly.

One of my favourite accidental moments was when a guy managed to get behind my cover and was just about to shoot me in the face while I was mid-reload... Only for Ellie to save my rear end at the very last second by hucking a brick at his head to distract him for the brief moment I needed to finish reloading.

Her "Holy poo poo Joel" after you do something like molotov a guy to death was what surprised me.

In Destiny, your character is accompanied by a ghost, a small flying robot that seemingly lives in your pocket and flies out to perform various tasks. When you open the menu your character takes out the ghost and holds it in front of him- but he doesn't if you open the menu while the ghost is elsewhere in the middle of doing something. The ghost's voice also changes when it's on duty; when it's in your pocket you hear his voice directly out of the speakers as though he's right where you are, but if he's out in the world his voice is directional and if you walk too far away it switches to radio. The ghost also produces your flashlight by hovering over your shoulder and shining a beam of light, but again, while he's away he can't do this and you temporarily don't have a flashlight.

If you play on PS4 your controller lights up accordingly. I'm pretty sure every post I've made in this thread is about PS4 games and how the interact with your controller.

I think I had that same guy. One of my favorites was "(Name) the Friendly". When me met, he said, "I've no hate in my heart. So if you throw down them weapons, we can stop this fight altogether!" Of course I couldn't, and we fought. I died, and he was pretty cordial about it.

Get him to Warchief. Something amazing about having a Warchief be a pacifist.

It did have some really neat (if kind of hosed up) areas save for the Greed bit because I hate that place.
The tower of Lust though was really one of the most hosed up and memorable bits in the entire game.

Greed was terrible but it matched the theme. Every time you went for some extra loot they punished you severely for it.

Dying Light actually has a lot of little details in it that you'd never notice at first glance. I like that you can see your reflection in some of the weapons.

Another thing I noticed yesterday is that if you sneak up on a human enemy with a gun (a rare weapon in this game) they will put their hands up.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-lFBOVyZsk
If there are a lot of them they will still come at you. I pointed my gun at one and he didn't move because he was alone. It wasn't until I fired and he realized I was out of ammo that he came at me.
One last thing. There is a constant clock ticking in the game that you can check by looking in your inventory. You can also check the world around you, though, and see that the all the clocks match up.

In Bloodborne your character can get covered in blood, or slime, or whatever the enemy is dripping and it gets stuck to your clothing. It's a really cool effect. What is even cooler is that if you remove your helmet, only the parts where you skin were showing are covered in blood.

One of my favorite things about Sekiro is that leading up to the game's release they said that Patches wasn't going to be in it. For those of you who don't know Patches is a character in all From Software games who deceives players by telling them some treasure is somewhere, only to have Patches kick the player off a cliff when they go investigate.
I was sad about him not being in the game but then I found this dude covered in patched up clothes wearing an eye patch

Breath of the Wild has all those games beat since you can climb pretty much over anything.

I played Breath of the Wild then went back to Horizon and it was eye-opening.
This isn't a knock against Horizon. I mean I don't expect every game to be as open and free with exploration as Breath of the Wild but going from one to the other and not being able to get over a wall or something is really jarring.

Astral Chain has a lot of little things in it that I enjoy like vending machines having different personalities or having to use the joycons to balance icecream you're holding.
I also noticed that the traffic lights work.

The best fake ending is Kid Icarus: Uprising, because it seems like the actual ending to a kind of short launch title where the replay value comes from scouring for unlockables and random drops and upping the difficulty.

But nope! The real main bad tears down the credits. You’re only 2/5 of the way through.

And then, a few levels later, it starts to get really crazy.

This is still my favorite 3DS game. It's so good. At one point your character sings along with the music playing in the background.

Uncharted: Lost Legacy is honestly the only Uncharted game I actually enjoyed playing. Maybe it was the more open levels or maybe I just liked the characters more.
Plus it was the first photo mode that I remember where you could change the characters facial expression.
