The goon saying that Flinstones made him cry is crying because he has considered the effects of blacklisting before and a current piece of writing reminds him of what he’s come to feel about it. You’re effectively arguing that you can’t feel emotion about historical fiction without being the same as a dude who didn’t realize the dead at Auschwitz were real people.
