The repercussions are already kicking in: DeportRacism is (allegedly) paying Larry David the $5,000 bounty for his monologue cameo.

If Lorne Michaels could have he would have had OJ Simpson on the show after the trial.

Maybe I've been in the SA forums too long, but it was interesting that the "Larry David is a Jew" comment was posted immediately after I put the link here. By the way, if you haven't checked the AV Club this morning, last night drew the show's first F. And well earned.

I think there were enough sketches I enjoyed that made it better than any number of episodes I can think of from the last 10 years. I don't like Trump, but I can see why they went for an easy ratings boost even if I didn't agree with it. Cold open was decent enough and not drawn out too long, the Trump impressions were entertaining in the monologue (especially Taram's who made up for his impression not being as accurate by just gurning while Trump was talking) and the Larry David shoutout was amazing because nobody saw that coming, the Bad Girls video was pretty ace as is all the girl rap stuff they've done, Weekend Update was great just because of the Leslie and Drunkle double whammy, the Startraxx pre-record was generally pretty good and the 'We're not pornstars anymore' was excellent. I like Sia as an artist, and it doesn't bother me that she does weird artsy poo poo during her performances. I honestly didn't expect to come away from a Trump episode enjoying a good chunk of the sketches. I'm trying to remember what didn't hit... the presidential sketch following the monologue wasn't great, although had a few laughs, and the Trump Tweets one was a decent idea that wasn't executed particularly well. It felt like they took a real sketch that wasn't great and added the gimmick over the top and hoped it'd save it. Think that was the only others?

There's like, Bobby Moynihan but he's more miss than hit. I saw the Weekend Update with the two human sandbags and Leslie Jones and it was intensely embarrassing for everyone.

I'm not sure what's more annoying, the people who claim SNL was best when they were in high school or the people who dismiss any criticisms of SNL with OMG YOU WERE IN HIGH SCHOOL ONCE STOP TALKING ABOUT COMEDY FOREVER. Larry David being this sort of featured cast member is amazing, I hope he sticks around.
