I got some beans in a roast that’s way too dark so I’ve been mixing them in with a lighter roast

coffee tastes best in a plain white cup or mug. nobody will admit this

Did a cold brew with some beans that were just too dark a roast for me for aeropress and the result is pretty nice

Wait what, I was just pouring 100ml of the cold brew in a cup and topping off the rest with boiled water

RustyKnight posted:decided to use classic method for aeropress instead of inverted, plunger finally goes smoothly instead of having lots of friction I imagined this as having the cup and aeropress both upside down, pressing down on it like you’re pressing an orange half

I bought a drip coffee machine because I had a craving for some burnt rear end coffee. It’s what the body needs sometimes.

I’ve now changed everything about my aeropress technique after reviewing the latest science. Not inverted, no filter wash, no bloom, no stir, just beans living in the moment

I actually just take apart what can be taken apart, shake it out, then have a go at exposed areas with a dedicated toothbrush

My freezer is directly next to my coffee stuff so it's the most convenient place to store it. I leave it in the bags the beans come in, closed with a clip if the bag isn't resealable. I pull out the bag, pour out some beans, and stick it back in the freezer. No idea if the science checks out on this but it's p convenient. Edit: I grind them straight from the freezer, is that bad

I love my little scale, removing exactly one bean to get the weight right to .1 of a gram is more satisfying than anything I do at my job
