There must've been a script shorthand for "is exploded into a racist caricature" White people loving loved that poo poo constantly back then, not much to say other than that. Same with the stern-looking disgruntled wife in hair rollers, bath robe, and rolling pin in hand at the front door ready to domestically abuse their wayward husband.
