June Set 2 Obviously a few months got skipped. I've got a bunch of posts from April but other than that I kinda need to go through the screenshots on my phone and collect them. So April and May will appear here at some point. G0RF posted:Derek's influence during the JPG War (especially late 2015 through much of 2016) shouldn’t be completely discounted. He did have some inside sources, did have some original scoops, and absolutely disrupted the triumphalist narrative CIG enjoyed prior to his arrival. He forced Chris and Sandi’s marriage out into the open (rightly so) and was the first guy warning that Star Marine was deader that dead. (And but for Derek, Chris’s response to The Escapist wouldn’t have been half as wonderful to read. Because he doxxed Chris’s wife!) G0RF posted:Spacetoaster has your back. Scruffpuff posted:"Orgs" will never stop being funny to me. There's a particular flavour in Star Citizen of what I call "unhomed orgs," which appear to be cadres of externally full-grown men who just patrol the internet to find upcoming games they can project their milsim dreams onto. In that sense CIG happened to be in the right place at the right time, and said exactly the right things to these people so they went on to believe that the code itself would assure their "victory." Which they clearly need, since so many of them got atomized in actual freeform systems like EVE. https://twitter.com/GateComics/status/1144267102288826368 TheAgent posted:looks like CIG v CryTek has a settlement meeting on the 16th of July shrach posted:Some director changes in the company currently known as Cloud Imperium UK LTD. Beet Wagon posted:Aside from all the other technical problems it has, Star Citizen's biggest issue is that it is manifestly unfun the second you start to actually play it. Sarsa spoke to this a bit when talking about the "running kills you" thing, but it's really impossible to overstate how catastrophically unfun this game is to play. It's not even that it's boring, it's that it goes out of its way to actively suppress fun at almost every turn. People wonder why nobody is watching Star Citizen streams and the answer is two-fold: First, nobody gives enough of a poo poo about this game to watch it besides the mega-whales who dream of sitting at a tall desk giving orders to their crack troops, and second it is deeply, depressingly boring to watch. ==Mark Hamill likes one of Star Citizen's tweets== https://twitter.com/Jobbo_Fett/status/1144671894135812098 Rotten Red Rod posted:Holy poo poo, that is some peak cringe. But Chris is a weapons-grade moron, so this is now a movie. The reason, and I am not making this up, the reason those delays are there is to force the movie-going experience not on you, but on the people around you. It takes 15 minutes to hack so there's a big window of opportunity for another commando to happen upon the scene, see you there, and think "Look, he's hacking the terminal!" All they have to add is the audio for "I'm past the third firewall, this guy is good, deploying countermeasures." As you may or may not have heard: Stupid Crowdfunding Accomplishments Mausoleum subforum is being archived sometime soon. The main Star Citizen thread will go into the regular games forum somewhere. But what about this thread? For better organization and search features I've been wanting to crosspost the thread recap to it's own site, and this move has accelerated that need. You will be able to find that blog at https://pricelesstrainwreck.github.io/ but nothing exists there yet. Hopefully in the next two weeks. (real answer I'll make sure at least one post goes up this week) A Recap thread in the main sea of Games would probably see a lot more noiseposts, I'll try it out but I don't expect it would work as well as we've done here. All that being said, August Set 2 is likely the last recap in this particular thread unless it gets transplanted as part of the move. If you are reading this in 2029 and are totally lost in the wind. Twitter may still exist, check for any pinned tweet or a url listed in the bio of https://twitter.com/VirtualCapt I will keep it updated with the most accurate place to get recaps.
